First Grade News
We hope everyone had a wonderful and restful spring break. This month we will close out the third quarter and begin the fourth quarter of the school year. As the weather gets warmer, we will certainly take advantage of outdoor recess. Some mornings are still chilly, so please be sure to send in appropriate gear for going outside.
Math
Students will finish the unit of solving one step addition and subtraction story problems. We will then begin our unit on money. A great way to support your child at home is to have them practice counting change totaling $1 or less.
Content
Students will begin learning about the season of spring and characteristics that make that season unique. As flowers begin to bloom and wildlife begins to make an appearance again, take time to discuss the things we see and hear during spring. We will then learn about natural resources.
