Searches, using key search terms set by the subscriber, track all mentions in all 87 Montana newspapers Google and other search engines only access large dailies and content being shared online and do not have access to complete archives; website paywalls prevent complete access or can be added cost Montana News Tracker combines the hyper local, community news and reporting with high technology!

6 What does it look like? Digital “clips” are organized and delivered weekly in electronic bins. Weekly s alert subscribers. Clips can be accessed immediately, or downloaded, stored, shared and printed as needed. What is Montana News Tracker? A news monitoring service utilizing a digital archive of Montana’s 87 member newspapers to provide electronic newspaper article “clips” Although electronic files may be printed out on to paper, gone are the days of reading, searching, cutting out articles and ads from physical newspapers and postal mailing. The digital archive is searched using specific words, short phrases, names…all set by the subscriber. All mentions of the search words are tracked, retrieved and digitally clipped. Clippings are grouped by date and put into bins. Subscribers access their bins each week for most current clippings. Past clips are stored, creating a custom mini-archive to be used, stored, shared and printed as needed. What does it look like to the subscriber? alerts subscriber that there are custom “clips” in the bin, done on a weekly basis
