2 Student Objectives Students will identify the climate regions and vegetation patterns of Sub-Sahara Africa. Students will analyze the impact these factors have on the Standard of living for citizens of Sub-Sahara Africa.

3 Tropical Climate Africa has a Tropical Rain Forest along the Equator.
Receives more than 60 in. of rain a year. Very lush thick vegetation. Bananas and coffee are among cash crops grown in this area.

4 Tropical Savanna Covering almost half of Africa is the Tropical Savanna. Africa’s most identifiable Climate. Characterized by a wet/dry season. Grassy Plains with scattered trees. Home to the Serengeti Plain.

5 Serengeti Plain Home to many animals that make Africa unique.
The Serengeti National Park is located in Tanzania. Many travelers make east Africa a destination to view exotic animals.

11 Desert Isolated parts of Africa swelter in a desert climate.
Located north and South of the Savanna areas. The Namib desert and the Kalahari desert are located in Southern Africa. Temps can climb as high as 120 F.
