Description of Lifeguard Tower: Hang from a bar or set of rings with a straight body position. For an added challenge, also try to hold the legs up in a tuck or pike position. FMP: Statics Safety: Height of Rings or bar should not be too high for the age and size of participants Equipment: High Bar or a School Wall Gym Set Description of Swing Over the Sharks: Hold onto the rope and swing, do not let go! 2 # 2-Crab Walk on benches Description: From sitting position, place your hands behind your bum. Feet should be place flat on the floor while your palms are used to hold the body stationary. Begin walking forward, opposite arm and leg. Continue until you have reached your destination. FMP: Locomotion Safety: mats under participants are Recommended. 3 # 3-Workout on the beach (Task cards #2, 3, & 10)
Description Of Front Support (Task Card #2): This is similar to a “push-up” position. The body must be straight and the muscles squeezing tight, especially the glutes. The upper back should be straight. Be sure to prevent your hips from lowering to the ground. Straight body, and point fingers forward. FMP: Statics Safety: mats under body Equipment: Description of Rear Support (Task card # 3): From a seated position with the legs straight out in front place the hands besides the seat with the fingers pointing forwards towards the toes. Lift the hips up off the ground to form a straight line from the shoulder down to the toes. Equipment : Description of Front to Rear Support (Task card # 10): From a proper front support position turn the body over in either direction to a rear support. FMP: Statics, Rotation Safety: It is crucial that before initiating the turn, the hand of the supporting arm rotate inward so that upon arriving in rear support the fingers are pointing towards the feel and are NOT pointing backwards. 4 #4-Walk the Plank -watch out for the sharks ! (Task cards # 55 & 56)
Description: (Task Card #55-Walking on tip toes). Walk straight with your arms to the side. Stay on your tip toes with the chest standing proud. To advance your movement (Task Card # 56-Lunges forward and sideways) feel free to lunge forwards while staying straight at the same time. 5 # 5-Partner Counter Balances (ACROBATIC HAND OUT appendix 4)
Description One: Holding hands with a partner (can cross arms or leave arms straight), place tips of feet together and lean backwards Description Two: Sitting on the ground place the soles of your feet on the soles of your partner and hold each others hands and try to balance Variation: Release hands and both partners lean back on their back and lift their hips off the ground FMP: Static Safety: Mats under partners Equipment: Mats andrea

6 # 6- Diving Board Jump (Task cards # 25 & 61)
Description: Run up to the spring board land with both feet. While you are in the air, spin your body 180 degrees, while arms are tucked into the body. Land facing the beat board. Next, from a standing position, perform a short run of only 3 to 4 steps. On the last step jump onto both feet and rebound upward with legs together to finish with a 2-foot soft landing. 7 # 7- V sit in the Sand (Task card #8)
Description of V sit: From a seated position with legs straight out in front, bend the knees and bring them up close to the chest . Slowly extend the legs until they are straight. 8 # 8- beach Fun (Task Cards #68, 69, 71, 73)
Description of Underhand throw and Catch with variation: Using any kind of ball or bean bag, stand about 1 meter from a partner and throw the object underhanded, with one and both hands. The partner starts by trapping the object against their body with both arms and then trapping the object away from their body with both hands. Progress: Catch with one hand, underhand catch then move to catching overhead. Variation: Individually throw the object into a container or at a target. FMP: Projecting and Receiving SAFETY: Throwing item (ball/bean bag) is safe and weighted to specific age group. Space around throwing area is clear of people. 9 #9- Forward landing on the hands from the Knees in the Sand-Prone fall from knees (Task Card # 12)
Description: From a kneeling position with the body straight up and the arms directly out in front, fall forwards and reach towards the ground with the fingers contacting first. Immediately lower to the palm of the hands while bending the arms. Try to stop the body just before it contacts the ground. 10 # 10-Jump over a beach log (Task card # 62 & 63)
Description of Jump to Tuck or Straddle position on a low box top (Task Card # 62): From a tuck position, hands on top of a box top; lift the feet off the ground and place them in between the arms finishing in a tuck (squatting) position, keeping the arms straight. It is sometimes easier if the box top is set length-wise and not sideways. FMP: Spring and Statics Safety: Equipment: Description of Squat and Straddle over a low box (Task Card # 63): From a tuck position, apply pressure to the top of a box and jump over. Try to keep arms sight during the motion, especially when performing the movement in a straddle position. 11 #11- Turtle Support-aka Angry Cat (Task card #1)
Description: begin on hands and knees with arms straight and hands turned so that the fingers are pointing towards each other. The back is pressed upwards to form a round shape with the chin tucked into the chest. FMP: Statics Safety: mats Equipment: mats stephen

12 #12- Cartwheel over a Log (Task card #37)
Description: begin with both hands placed on top of the bench or box top, and one foot in front of the other. Swing the back leg around and over the bench and then follow with the leg that was in front . Try the skill from a starting position and in one motion reach down, place the hands on the object, and swing the legs over. FMP: Rotation and Locomotion Safety: if rotating on an object don’t let go, mats, use a box top or bench depending on age of participant Equipment: bench and mats perry

13 # 13- Sideways shoulder on the Sand (Task Card # 14)
Description: From a turtle support position (refer to activity # 11) at the top of the mat, with the head tucked in like a turtle withdrawn into its shell, roll sideways down the incline while trying to maintain turtle position. The end position will be another turtle support .The key is to maintain as round a body shape as possible throughout the roll. FMP: Landing, rotation, locomotion. 14 # 14- Swimming/ Surf boarding
Description: Participants will use different parts of their body to create locomotion on the board across a designated area Variation 1: Kneel on board and use arms/hands only Variation 2: Tummy on the board and use legs (or legs and arms to move across area Variation 3: With a partner, use one arm each to move across area FMP: Locomotion and Static Position Safety: No standing on board Equipment: Trolley boards, markers for area perry
