QCVC Parent Meeting October 1/17

2 Vision Statement We are a group of volunteers working together to provide a safe, athletic and respectful environment for athletes to develop the necessary skills as well as build a passion for the sport of volleyball.

3 What we contribute We provide an infrastructure to allow for athletes to develop and coaches to instruct Athletes and coaches with a learning environment suited to their individual ability We courage multiple sports in order to support more diverse and thorough development overall Codes of conduct to allow fairness and respect between coaches, parents, athletes and club administration

4 High Performance The club will provide a High Performance program for the teams selected with the expectation that those teams will participate in Sask Cups, Provincials and National competitions. Identify, attract, develop and motivate athletes to high levels of performance To provide athletes with the opportunity for advanced levels of skill development and competition in the sport of volleyball. Teams are formed based on objective evaluations and coach choice

5 High Performance Commitment
QCVC is committed to developing all of its players. Every player shall receive fair playing time. NOTE: FAIR playing time is different than EQUAL playing time. Playing time decisions will be based on the following factors: attendance at practice, athlete readiness, attitude, injuries, and team composition and needs. Playing time will be determined at the coach’s discretion.

7 High Performance High Performance 14-18U – starts October 22
Registration for High Performance will open on October 10, and will close on November 19 Players can be moved from HP evaluations and moved to Developmental. Coaches authority to make decisions

8 Evaluations Will begin on October 22 at a time allocated with your age group. Final Team Selection will be on November 27. Coaches are viewing players during high school league and may approach players to discuss playing for QCVC High Performance If player doesn’t evaluate, they will not be allowed on High Performance.

9 Coach Highlights Top 12 / next 12 based on evaluation and player selection Assigning coaches to compete with other clubs for players 14U –Brian Evans 15U - Ryan Dzioba 16U - Glen Hoffman 16U - Brandon McEachern 17U – Don Morrison 18U - Rob Hoffman

10 Developmental Will be league play in association with the ICP Volleyball League in Regina Introduce and provide much needed volleyball programs for all athletes wanting to participate in the sport Provide resources and mentorship in order to develop coaches for future coaching opportunities at the high performance level. Practice 1x/week, and 1 game play on Thursdays at the U of R. Teams will not be entered into any SVA tournaments. May participate in Provincials in Division 3

12 Parent Representatives
Parent Representatives are an integral part of the connection between club, team, and parents 24 Hour Rule Discuss necessary concerns, finances and Kudos for your coach

13 Athlete Development High Performance teams will use Level 10 for athlete conditioning Mental Conditioning – Joan McCusker MAP grant funding provides approximately $200/team for costs associated with athlete development.

14 New for 2017 Goalline Parent Code of Conduct Injury – Refund policy
If notified prior to Jan 1/17 – 100% less the non-refundable $250 If Notified prior to Feb 1/17 – 50% less the non-refundable $250 If Notified prior to March 1/17 – 25% less the non-refundable $250 After March 2/17 – no refund applied Must be accompanied by a doctor’s note indicating approximate return date
