Goal: To understand how proteins work. Standard: NHES#2 – Safe and healthy environment. Warm-up: How many calories is in each gram of fat? Give an example of a saturated fat. Give an example of an unsaturated fat. Create your own critical thinking question.

2 Notes: *Proteins* Protein is made up of chains of amino acids that link together to form a protein. Proteins serve to build and repair body tissue, make hormones, and parts of the immune system that help to fight off infections. They form parts of muscle, hair, skin, nails, connective tissue, and glands.
