Directions
Step 1: On your own, evaluate the CDs you have listed for your topic sentences and select the two best CDs to prove the opinion in topic sentence # 1.
Step 2 : Share topic sentence #1with a partner and explain the CDs you have selected to prove the point in this topic sentence. Give your partner feedback. Did they select the most effective CDs to prove their point? Is there a better one you would suggest?

Step 4: Take out your TLQ handout. Using the TLQ format that you have learned, embed your quotes in your paragraphs.
Example: For instance, after Doodle refuses to touch his own casket, the narrator says, “ ‘…before I’ll help you down from the loft, you’re going to have to touch it’ ” (3).
Enrichment: If you finish your TLQ before everyone else, begin working on your CM. Remember that CM is your opinion about the CD. What does it tell you or show you about your opinion? Work until the bell. 
