11 Summary Key Takeaways Andritz Long time Vault users upgraded to Vault Collaboration to add replication and document management capabilities Competitive win against Siemens, Dassault, ProCAD, CIMDB and Matrix One High demand for high performing and user friendly CAD integration Extendable Solution to cover my specific business process Replace a strategy of “1 PLM System for all business units” with a more efficient, high performance and user friendly product to manage AutoCAD and Inventor data Austria Profile Customer challenges: Different CAD – systems, different processes, no collaboration. The approach “1 system for all” – coming from the strong integration to the single ERP system – leads to a highly complex system, which at the end is not satisfying anyone. In addition, system gets IT- wise difficult to manage, and changes become highly expensive. One of the major selection for the Vault is the ease of use to deploy the OOTB solution and at the same time the ability to extend this solution to cover our specific business process. The company Andritz was able to extend to the software to a degree to satisfy their specific needs. 80 Vault Collaboration Users Today 350 planned Vault Professional users Best system to manage AutoCAD and Inventor data Replication connecting remote locations SAP integration

12 Why did They Choose Vault Solution? Key Reasons
Work in Process Under Review Released Those companies choose Vault solution for 4 specific reasons: Best in class CAD Integration for more productivity Connect all Autodesk CAD users in the company with their design data Increase sharing and Collaboration and make sure to connect all design team in different regions and countries for more efficiency Configure and/or extend the product to address their specific needs and automate tasks to be more effective

13 Best-In-Class Experience for Users Visual Product Development
It seems, no matter where you look, you see variations of the same graphical user interface (GUIs). Whether you’re on the hunt for a product data management (PDM) or product lifecycle management (PLM) system, you’re confronted with the same grids and columns, consolidated into a dashboard with a series of graphs and charts. They may have different color schemes, may even have a few customizable options. But stripped of their GUIs, they offer more or less the same functions: file check-in/check-out, version control, compliance management, change order tracking, and so on. A new innovative approach of data management is the visual product development. What do we mean by that? Visual Product Development If you’re using Autodesk Inventor, you may already be on the road to visual product development. With Vault new capabilities, you’ll be able to retrieve and display supplier, project or product data, file ownership, part status, and many other information housed in Vault right from your assembly model. In this case, the assembly model serves as the interface for requesting, receiving, and displaying your product, project and enterprise data. Autodesk Vault’s data management went beyond simply displaying text and numeric data in a pop-up window or a palette. Seen as colors and shades superimposed on your 3D geometry, your enterprise data and supply chain info may yield insights and wisdom previously overlooked. (It’s a lot easier to miss a line item in a series of columns; not so when it appears as a red highlight on your model.) Work in Process Under Review Released The assembly model serves as the interface for requesting, receiving, and displaying your product, project and enterprise data.

18 Vault API: Platform to develop additional module
Extend existing application capability and streamline business processes to meet business needs faster Details Allow user, reseller and ADN community to extend and customize the solution Integrate with business systems Create a scalable integration model Autodesk data management solution delivers a rich API (application programming interface) whether to be used to exchange information with other planning and manufacturing systems to help eliminate errors caused by manual data entry or to extend and customize the solution to create additional module to cover specific market or customer needs such as streamline business processes to meet their business needs faster.

19 Vault API 2012* Enhance existing application capability and streamline business processes to meet business needs faster Details Automate and enforce custom process using pre- and post event handler Define actions for Items and ECOs during lifecycle transition Access to new Vault features like project capabilities And more … We are investing a much more in the API area to make the product more and more flexible so resellers and partners are able to add new capacities and extend the product in order on one side to match unique company business processes and needs and on the other side an opportunity for you to generate service revenue. One of the capabilities we are looking for is to automate and enforce customer process using pre-and post event handler. This would allow developers to handle events that are triggered before and after select WebServices API calls are made. The goal of this feature is to enable Vault customizations to better control what data is placed in the Vault, and notify users and external systems immediately when events of interest occur.  Another capability is the ability to define actions for Items and ECOs during lifecycle transition to automate customer common workflows. And as self-evident adding the capabilities to access the new Vault features like projects capabilities. *Subject to Change

20 Vault APIs: Vault 2012 - Event Handling
With Autodesk.Connectivity.WebServices.dll Autodesk Data Management Server (ADMS) ADMS Web Services API Some of you may already knew part of this picture from other event. This is an overview of the capabilities to access and extend the Vault features. On the server side we have the ADMS the data management server and the Web Services API. To connect to the server all client including Autodesk Vault Client like Vault Exporer or Job Processor use the Web Services API to access, modify and add data to the Server. As partner you are able to create a custom stand-alone client or custom design application add-in client to access and add data to the Server. Click Now with the 2012 release we add a new layer Autodesk.Connectivity.WebServices.dll and all Client will be communicating with the server via this layer to be able to consume the new Event Handling capabilities.
