My heart was filled with thanksgiving to our Lord as I witnessed more than six hundred people from seven congregations coming together to worship at Manchester Cathedral. It was an unspeakable joy to see so many of our kinsmen saved in Christ and serve God in the UK. It was heart warming to recount the humble beginning of MCCC in 1966 as a small fellowship when COCM’s founder Pastor Stephen Wang visited Manchester. Over the years, God has sent many different servants to serve the church and help its congregation to grow. I was particularly touched by the stories of former British missionaries who gave years of service to support the church in the past. Three of them, Margaret, Betty, and Rosie, were invited as representatives to cut the anniversary cake. Many others also helped the church in various capacities over the years. We shall remember that we are actually standing on their shoulders as we continue to serve God and His people of this generation. At the Global Connections conference earlier this month, we heard about various opportunities that came along with "Europe's Big Problem". We are all very concerned about how to deal with the current refugee and migrant crises. It is evident that our God is moving the nations to Europe. What is our role living in such historic times? Let us continue to seek God for a more clear vision for the Chinese churches in the UK and Europe.
