Site Manager on site 2-3 days prior to a/c arrival Coordinates with airport officials, FBO and consumables supplier Immigration and customs (as req’d) IMPERATIVE THAT ALL FOREIGN NATIONALS ARE IDENTIFIED LONG BEFORE EACH DEPLOYMENT STARTS Site Manager local POC for all instrument requirements Site Manager to provide local orientation document upon a/c arrival

Room Block will be set up for each deployment site Working with hotels to include flexibility with respect to arrival date Cooperative Agreement participants’ travel to be facilitated through Wyle (ARC Support Contractor) Airlines reservations (as needed) Hotel reservations Rental Vehicle reservations (2-3 persons/car) Reimbursements for M&IE

Anchorage Primary hangar with back-up for January 2017 Only needed night prior to departure Potassium acetate and sodium formate used to de-ice runways LN2 and dry ice available M-F Kona WAS, AO2/Medusa and PFP flask/canister swap Courtyard Marriott ( ≈ 8 miles from airport) Pago Pago LN2 and dry ice not available Tradewinds Hotel ( ≈ 1.5 miles from airport)

Christchurch LN2 and dry ice available (M-F) Arranging support from Pacific Architects and Engineers (PAE) (currently support NSF Deep Freeze and NASA SOFIA programs) Envisioning a shipping container with all instrument teams’ resupply material sent from Palmdale Sudima Hotel (within walking distance of PAE airport) Punta Arenas LN2 and dry ice available (though pricey) DC-8 has been there every year since 2009

Ascension Island Jointly operated USAF/RAF base No LN2 or dry ice available Must have proper entry permit (business/research) prior to arrival Must have medical insurance that covers treatment and emergency evacuation by air (suggested £1M) prior to arrival The Azores (Lajes Field) Joint military/commercial airport operated by Portuguese Air Force USAF detachment LN2 and dry ice may be available through university Greenland Thule out for ATom-1 (runway work) Kangerlussuaq planned for ATom-1 only
