1 A Note from Your Teacher Upcoming tests & assignments
Mrs. Grundlock’s Classroom News A Note from Your Teacher We have had a wonderful week! Thank you to all the parents who volunteered to chaperone the field trip. If you haven’t already, check out our Twitter Class for field trip pictures! Specials next week: PE Team Time: I can explain that how contractions are formed by two words with an apostrophe. Language Arts:. I can answer questions about a text and find supporting evidence from the text. I can write a fictional story developing characters, setting, problem, and solution. Math I can partition circles and rectangles into two or four equal parts. I can describe shares using the words halves, fourths, and quarters. I can explain that shares get smaller respectively. I can describe a whole as two of four of the shares. Science I can explain how magnets are used in everyday life (i.e. refrigerator magnets, toys, latches, name tags, etc…) I can investigate to demonstrate how magnets attract and repel other objects. I can investigate to demonstrate the effect of magnets on common objects. Mark Your Calendar April 28th – Spelling Test May 2nd – Last Checkout of the Year (Library Day) May 15th – Field Day & Class Party Upcoming tests & assignments Spelling Test – April 28th Fractions Test – April 25th Magnets Test – TBD (Week of May 1st) May 5th – Stem Day Spelling Words Each week you will have 10 Fry words (from red folder) and 10 word family words to practice each week and take a test on Friday!! Fry Words: man, say, great, help, much, too, old, boy, set, put Word Family Words: Long vowel o_e Rope, toe, hole, hope, stone, bone, cone, globe, note, slope, rose, hose, nose, robe, stove, etc… z
