Starting Class (All) -Attention during roll call
“Here Sir /Ma’am” when name called Then - Go to Parade Rest (1st Pd) – Flag Detail (2nd Pd) – Announcements Pledge of Allegiance Civilian clothes: Attention – hand on heart Uniform: Attention (no hand on heart) Take seats – When directed by Flight Cmdr Flight Cmdr Announcements Start Academics – Note-takers and clickers

General Classroom Rules (“No-No” Slide)
No gum chewing (during drill/formation) No electronic devices – end of class ASK! (or taken away) Personal grooming - before class No sleeping – (it’s rude!) Quietly stand in back room / go to sink Video No heads on desks (or slouching) No food – (eat breakfast – especially Fri!) Water – Always okay No sodas, energy drinks, coffee, etc.

Greet us!! (instructors, each other) ….. Mutual Respect Remain: At desk during class In classroom until dismissed Use proper grammar Keep classroom clean Treat our equipment w/ respect Video

Talking - raise HAND to speak No “shout outs” & no sideline discussions CONTRIBUTE to class discussion! Entering classroom after bell: Knock twice - FIRMLY Report to Flight commander: Salute “Sir/Ma’am, Cadet____ request permission to rejoin the flight” Quietly return to your seat w/o disturbing the class

Bathroom Breaks Go before/after class! JMRHS policy 10 after bell
During class – should be an emergency only! May *NEW* 2 per quarter / 4 per semester To go: Raise hand – ask permission Sign out on log/tag (by door - name/time) - CLOCK on wall To return : Come back in through office door Return tag/sign back in on log (time returned)

“Crossing into the Blue” Blue carpeted Office area
DO NOT enter Blue (office) area w/o permission!! Work area for instructors – Not a cadet “hang-out” Don’t cross thru to get to classroom Don’t interrupt instructors or block doorways To ENTER: Knock twice – remain silent at door (at attention) Wait for permission to enter by instructor Proceed to instructor’s desk/state your business Areas behind instructors’ desk – OFF LIMITS to cadets!

NEW Phones/Electronic Devices
SCHOOL policy - NO device use at all in class No Teacher discretion Permitted in Cafeteria & b/w classes only (one earbud)! In uniform: Violations/Consequences: Confiscated 100% of time & turned into front office 1st Offense Student may retrieve phone at end of the day 2nd Offense NO earbuds/headphones! = Friday School Suspension & = parents must come get phone!

Office Phone Must have permission from instructor (Dial 9 then the #)
We do have a long distance line (9-1- then #) If instructor not able….YOU answer ringing office phone: Give your name, JROTC….may I help you? Take a message (as a minimum: get their name & phone #) Multiple locations *By Classroom Door* MSgt Outram’s Desk Lt Col Rose’s Desk

Equipment Accountability & Cadet info Normally permitted to enter: Logistics Cadets Commanders/Deputies (Group, Sqdn, Flight, Special Teams Commanders) Cupboards & refrigerator – ask instructor permission before using

…in the Cadet Corps Cadet commanders – Delegated authority from Lt Col Rose Before asking an instructor…. Use your Chain of Command Go to your Element Leader or Flight Commander first! Keep issues “in house” (Solve problems at lowest level) Don’t complain…offer suggestions Never embarrass a cadet Criticize the behavior, not the cadet Correct in ______, Praise in _______! This is YOUR program…your legacy Who is the biggest recruiter for JROTC? Private Public YOU!
