Indian Subcontinent India and its surrounding countries are part of the South Asia region. This region includes India, Pakistan, Bangladesh among other countries.

Two mountain ranges to the north, the Himalayas and Hindu Kush, separate the Indian subcontinent from the rest of Asia.

4 India’s first civilization grew around the Indus River Valley.
River floods, rich soil leads to crops.

5 Flooding created a fertile plain good for farming.

6 Tropical, hot, seasonal winds known as monsoons.
