3 Cisco Unified Operations Manager Proactive Fault and Performance Management
Benefits Reduces time needed to address problems with proactive fault notification and diagnostics Improves service quality; problems that may affect service are isolated before end users are affected Eliminates trips to sites through remote-phone diagnostic tests Helps ensure proper capacity at all times with utilization status and alarms when thresholds are exceeded Simplifies access to network information using group-based portal views

4 Cisco Unified Operations Manager Proactive Fault and Performance Management
Automated unified communications network cluster discovery Easy right-click device action menu Real-time fault and performance monitoring of the entire Cisco® Unified Communications network External event notifications sent by and SNMP traps Diagnostic view displays main network, cluster, communications manager, or phone statistics and test results on a single portal Impromptu and scheduled diagnostics use the network to test itself

5 Cisco Unified Operations Manager Sample Work Flow
Identify potential CPU pegging problem on Cisco® Unified Communications Manager server View the threshold exception detail and recommended action Diagnose: Click to Device Diagnostic view Check the CPU % utilization Check the call summary Check the Cisco UCM service restarts Possible actions: Click back to Fault Monitor view Launch the Cisco UCM Admin page and stop nonessential processes Check all services for any over 40% and schedule that service for restart

6 Cisco Unified Operations Manager Value Proposition – Better Uptime and Cost Reduction
Use of Cisco® Unified Operations Manager and Cisco Unified Service Monitor saves several hours weekly for Warner's IT team—an especially important benefit for companies with small IT staffs. “The ability to isolate problems more quickly enables me to solve many issues in half an hour that previously took a full day.” Mike DeDecker Warner Pacific Insurance Services Reduces system maintenance costs Intelligent monitoring finds potential problems quickly Powerful diagnostic tests resolve problems efficiently Inventory tracking and device use data generates information to support change and expansion effectively Improves end-user satisfaction Proactive problem identification addresses problems before the phone user is affected Quicker problem resolution improves phone-user confidence in the solution
