2 Roy Lichtenstein Leading figure in the Pop Art Movement along with Jasper Johns, Andy Warhol and James Rosenquist Comic Strips were his main inspiration as well as popular advertising He described pop art as "not 'American' painting but actually industrial painting."[3] His paintings were exhibited at the Leo Castelli Gallery in New York City.

4 Pop Art Pop art is an art movement that emerged in the mid-1950s in Britain and in the late 1950s in the United States.[1] Pop art was made from images from popular culture such as advertising and news. In pop art, material is sometimes visually removed from its known context, isolated, and/or combined with unrelated material Pop art employs aspects of mass culture, such as advertising, comic books and mundane cultural objects. It is widely Pop art and minimalism are considered to be art movements that precede postmodern art, or are some of the earliest examples of Post-modern art themselves.[4] Product labeling and logos figure prominently in the imagery chosen by pop artists, as in the Campbell's Soup Cans labels, by Andy Warhol. Even the labeling on the shipping box containing retail items has been used as subject matter in pop art, for example in Warhol's Campbell's Tomato Juice Box 1964, or his Brillo Soap Box sculptures.

6 Stippling Stippling is used to create darkness and light areas in a picture through the use of various size dots. Small dots close together = dark area Dots further apart create a lighter colored area

8 The Project Find some text (for example a commonly known children's book, a book you’ve read, or a drea.or a memory you can write down). THIS MUST BE APPROPRIATE! Write down a brief explanation of your story or memory (atleast a paragraph). From that story, create a Pop art inspired comic, illustrated, with captions, you must use stippling as your method for color. You may use black and white or full color. This is project has a minimum of 1 page with 2 story frames
