3 On 17 May 2015 the global community will commemorate the 150 anniversary of the first Conference of the International Telegraph Union, held in Paris in 1865

Theme for ITU 150 Theme will be in line with the theme of WTISD 2015: ICTs: Drivers of Innovation The anniversary will be commemorated throughout 2015.

8 A unique opportunity ITU 150 will provide an important opportunity to engage ITU Membership to celebrate the main achievements in the history of telecommunications and ICTs and to highlight the role of ITU to enable another 150 years of innovation Sample of activities identified : Creation of a logo for ITU150 and rebranding of ITU Open day at ITU on 17 May 2015 Creation of Memory repository of history of telecom/ICTs Champions for ITU150 Series of events with academia ITU150 scholarship programme Global radio amateurs event at ITU Global campaign on role of ICTs for development Resolutions at C14, PP14

9 How to get involved: Organizing national celebrations
National Events National dialogues on the future of the ICT sector Symposia and/or technical events with the academia, research centers, industry, entrepreneurs Series of webinars Publications and communications Publication of books on relevant personalities and milestones that contributed to the development of ICTs at the regional and national level. Series of technical papers on the future of the ICT sector Issuing stamps, posters, flyers and other general communication material to observe celebration National Projects and initiatives National initiatives to bring ICTs to schools, hospitals, rural areas Launch of new ICT-enabled public services inspired by ITU150 Connecting the unconnected, digital literacy campaign to promote digital inclusion You name it! 10 How to get involved: Sponsorship opportunities
Referring to Council Resolution 1367, ITU Member States, Sector Members, Associates and Academia are invited to contribute to Fund for the Anniversary.
