The pro/con list coming up will help you choose the quiz building option that is best for you... Option 1 Option 3 Option 2

6 Option 2: Build Questions in banks, and “copy” them into quizzes
Option 1: Build Questions strictly in quizzes, not using question banks Pros Cons Instructors can SEE the questions being assessed. Questions cannot be easily shared between quizzes. Questions can be added outside of question groups to keep the order from being randomized. Option 2: Build Questions in banks, and “copy” them into quizzes Pros Cons Instructors can SEE the questions being assessed. Questions must be manually updated in all instances. Questions can be added outside of question groups to keep the order from being randomized. Question can be easily copied into multiple quizzes from the bank. Option 3: Build Questions in banks, and “pull” them into quizzes Pros Cons Questions can easily be updated in all instances from one MASTER location - the bank. Instructors cannot easily SEE the questions from the quiz itself. Linking to banks is only available through groups, which automatically randomize and assign equal points to all questions.

20 Request for All Quiz Options
Request for All Quizzes Request for All Quiz Options Development Requests Importing from ANGEL to Canvas Grading Requests Student Requests

21 Development Requests Request for All Quizzes
Questions are not numbered Question details only show with 25 questions or less The “Text Header” type will get randomized with other questions if placed in a group. Question groups do not have an option to include instructions at the top of the group. Matching, Fill-in-the-blank, Fill-in-Multiple Blanks Question: No Rich Text Editor in answer options Multiple choice options are only radio buttons, so there is no way to offer the option “both A and B". Shuffle answers can only be applied to all questions in a quiz

22 Importing from ANGEL to Canvas Requests
Request for All Quizzes Importing from ANGEL to Canvas Requests When you import ONE quiz with multiple question sets from ANGEL to Canvas, the questions are dumped into one Bank. When importing True/False questions from ANGEL to Canvas, Canvas converts the question from True/False to Multiple Choice.

23 Grading Requests Request for All Quizzes
In the speedgrader, there is no way to sort by question, only by student There is no ability to grade a file upload question using the Speedgrader. The file needs to be downloaded to grade it, unlike how the assignment submission allows for complex mark-up. Quizzes do not provide a way to add a rubric to an essay (or oral)-type question. Rubrics can be applied to the overall quiz, but not specific questions. If a question was especially confusing or if it was coded incorrectly, there is no way to automatically award everyone full points on that question (except by checking each submission individually). No matter what settings you put on quizzes, students see the feedback (both correct and incorrect feedback as well as general feedback) as soon as they submit the quiz.

24 Student Requests Request for All Quizzes
The quiz time clock does not scroll down the quiz with the questions while students are taking quiz, so they need to scroll back up to the top of the page to check their time and may lose their spot when they scroll back down. If a student is using a browser that is zoomed in, which is necessary for students with low visibility, the quiz questions get cut off on the right side of the screen. This causes an accessibility issue. Practice Quizzes Practice quiz shows as overdue on the Module page. Practice quizzes do not show up on the syllabus or "to do" list.
