6 Types of actions that you can take
To help, your actions can be directed at different levels, and you can focus on things you can do yourself, or things you want other people to do. Local National Global Individual Changing your own behaviour, e.g. recycling more. Public focus (awareness raising) Help more people locally to be aware of issue/solutions. Help more people nationally to be aware of the issue/solutions. Help people inter-nationally to be aware of the issue and solutions. Political focus Asking local politicians to do things which can help, e.g. supporting local actions. Asking national politicians to do things which can help, e.g. changing laws/funding. Asking inter-national bodies (e.g. the UN) to do things which can help, e.g. global agreements. Business focus Asking local businesses to change what they do, e.g. products they stock. Asking national businesses to change what they do, e.g. who they buy from/their policies. Asking international businesses to change what they do, e.g. their policies/behaviour. 6
