1 Customer Name Improving production with communications and Insights
Manufacturing Date Published Business Objectives Deliver better, faster vehicles Improve efficiency and uptime Reduce costs Prepare for growth Solutions Wireless connectivity everywhere Consolidated, secure networks Business Outcomes Ability to predict and respond faster to production or supply chain issues Improved visibility for business agility Better mobile communication improves workflows Supports efficient asset and part tracking “As we assemble trucks, we produce and collect a massive amount of data to understand where we are during the assembly of the truck. Our new solution lets us provide dashboard information to our management, stay informed about any parts shortages, and know the status of the vehicle in real time, at any time during the process.” Dieter Haban, CIO Daimler Trucks North America Business Objectives • Deliver customized vehicles for customers, better and faster • Control costs by boosting manufacturing efficiency and uptime • Improve agility and scalability to support innovation and future production needs (The company’s existing infrastructure and network was marked by low resiliency and performance, limited scalability, and poor wireless coverage. The result was reduced visibility and monitoring on the plant floor.) Solutions Implemented Pervasive wireless connectivity lets employees and machines stay connected everywhere across the factory Shared network (same for plant operations and corporate network) to help keep managers more informed, to predict and respond to production or supply chain issues faster Robust, standards-based security helps DTNA meet compliance needs Business Outcomes Improved visibility helps improve business agility and minimize production issues Allows the implementation of a MES and adoption of new innovative tools on the manufacturing floor • Improved mobile communication helps DTNA maximize uptime and collaboration within DTNA and with external partners • Enhanced asset and part tracking makes operations more efficient ******* DTNA project won a Manufacturing Leadership 100 Award in ‘Enterprise Technology Leadership’ and is also rolling out the solution to two more factories immediately

2 Daimler Trucks: Under the Hood
Customer Overview Sales Strategy Why Cisco? Account Team Advice Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA), a Daimler company, is the largest heavy- duty truck manufacturer in North America and a leading producer of medium-duty trucks and specialized commercial vehicles, including iconic brands such as Freightliner, Western Star, Freightliner Custom Chassis, Thomas Built, and Detroit Diesel. The Portland manufacturing facility builds a variety of commercial vehicles, including four different models of Western Star trucks. Worked closely with IT and Plant Management to understand business drivers and define architectural and technology requirements. The Account Team visited manufacturing plants; participated in multiple workshops; conducted a Cisco Sponsored Digital Factory Workshop, including one focused on automation with the Rockwell account team; and provided input to the business case development. Cisco Services assisted in the design and implementation for a no production impact major network refresh Executive champion to sponsor project. Conversation started with IT and continued with Plant automation (Western Star Factory) to leverage Cisco and Rockwell converged plant-wide architecture design and implementation guide. Great win against HP! Understand the customer’s business; take time to build relationships outside of IT, in this case Plant Automation and Management, Application Owners Become relevant to the customer’s business; become one of the customer’s valued IT partners Gabi Zapodeanu, SE Joe Lokis, AM Matt Coleman RM Armin Bolenius, Global Client Dir. United States Rockwell Automation $20M for all plants, PDCs, reman. facilities, new HQ building, offices Additional collaboration revenue Full network refresh of Western Star Factory in Portland, OR Leverage of joint CPwE Design guide now is the plan for rollout to addl. plants in Mexico and the U.S. 2/25/16 MFG (Automotive) Q1 FY15-Q2 FY16
