2 MISSION: To enhance students’ abilities to succeed in school by developing and sustaining partnerships that promote:

3 Early learning and successful transition into school
Academic achievement and well-being Graduation and transition into adult life

4 GOAL: The goal of the Family Resource and Youth Services Centers is to meet the needs of all children and their families who reside in the community served by the school.

5 By removing barriers, FRYSCs help support the achievement of the goal that all students become academically proficient.

6 Core Components Family Resource Centers (Core Components are the components mandated in legislation: KRS ) Full-time preschool child care for children two (2) and three (3) years of age.

7 Health services or referral to health services, or both.

8 PACE –like is a family literacy program designed to break the intergenerational cycle of “undereducation” in Kentucky by providing opportunities for parents and their children (0-18) to learn together.

9 After school child care for children ages four (4) through twelve (12), with the child care being full-time during the summer and on other days when school is not in session.

10 Families in Training, which shall consist of an integrated approach to home visits, group meetings, and monitoring child development for new and expectant parents.

34 BACKPACK BLESSINGS ITEMS INCLUDED IN THESE MEALS ARE:
Backpack Blessings is a program to feed school children whose families qualify for the federal free and reduced meal program and may not have enough food on the weekends. The goal of this program is to keep these students from going hungry on the weekends and to remove barriers to academic success. Research shows that healthy well nourished children learn better, are more likely to attend school, and are able to take advantage of educational opportunities. Each week our FRYSCs provide enough non-perishable food for the weekend (six meals) to “at risk” students. ITEMS INCLUDED IN THESE MEALS ARE: MACARONI AND CHEESE FRUIT CUPS CEREAL OR GRANOLA BARS INSTANT OATMEAL JUICE BOXES RAVIOLI MINI CUPS SOUPS PRETZELS TRAIL MIX HORMEL COMPLEATS MICROWAVABLE MEALS CHEESE/PEANUT BUTTER AND CRACKERS TUNA RAMEN NOODLES VIENNA SAUSAGES FOR MORE INFO, CONTACT A FRYSC.
