5. Impact This past year alone, over 4,030 adults and 4,070 children registered to attend these FREE programs. In 2010 Wesley staff facilitated interactions with over 57,790 visits made by families with their children to our respective programs. Wesley has been facilitating outreach programs since 2008 through United Way funding in an attempt to bridge gaps where programs are most needed in the community in the “From Here to the Bay” catchment area. Over the past year, this program has enhanced the lives of families at over 12 locations. CATCH aims to improve health and safety inside and outside the home by engaging children, youth and families with children from birth to 18 years through programming and connections with community resources. Over 11,449 visits were made during 2010 for programs offering services to ages birth to eighteen years of age with 273 new parents and 285 new children and youth. 8. Wesley Child Care Centre 340 York Boulevard Provides bilingual (English and French) licensed child care spaces for children 2 ½ to 5 years old. Healthy Babies, Healthy Children Family Home Visitor Program 151 Queen Street North Identifies and supports families in achieving their goals in order to promote the healthy growth and development of children. Staff working at the teen drop in program interact with an average of 40 youth per evening between the two locations. 19. Youth Housing 191 Main Street West The Wesley Youth Housing Program aids in addressing the issues of youth age 16-21 years who are homeless or at-risk of homelessness. Wesley staff assist with housing, safety, skill development, education, employment and building a new life through a two- year program that develops the necessary skills for youth to move to independence in the community. Wesley Youth Housing is Hamilton's only transitional housing program for youth with a capacity to house 19 youth at a time with 24-hour support and crisis intervention, and an emphasis on learning skills to live independently. Youth Outreach Workers-Hamilton (YOW-H) Through the Street Youth Planning Collaborative, YOW-H serves 12-21 year old youth and their families in three underserved, at-risk communities in Hamilton.
