Engineer is a technical specialist and a master in natural sciences (chemistry, physics, biology) and other applied sciences. Some of his/her responsibilities include:
able to assume personal responsibility for the development and application of engineering science and knowledge
make contributions to the development of engineering science or its applications

A manager is responsible for overseeing and leading the work of a group of people. Some of the responsibilities required to be a good manager are:
Planning the operation and function of the area over which the manager is assigned responsibility
Organizing the production of the work and the workforce
Providing the employees and their resources with enough guidance, direction, leadership and support
The skills required for this job are management, organization and communication. The average salary is around 600 – 700 BGN. To work as a manager you need a bachelor’s degree.

8. 7. Fitter and turner
Mechanical engineering tradespersons carry out a range of mechanical work on machines, sub-assemblies and manufactured parts using a range of processes, tools and machines. A mechanical engineering tradesperson responsibilities include:
Set up and adjust metalworking machines
Operate machines to produce parts or tools
Fit and assemble metal parts, tools
Dismantle faulty tools
A fitter and turner worker must have a high school diploma and certificates for technical fitting and turning school. A fitter and turner has to be physically fit and practical. He should enjoy technical work, teamwork and independently as well. The average salary is around 700 BGN.

A machine operator has to set up, maintain, operate machinery and ensure the interminable and efficient running of production. Some of his responsibilities include:
Control and adjust machines
Inspect parts with precision and measuring tools
Test operation of machines
Fix issues

To work as a machine operator, you need a minimum of a high school diploma, a certificate or associate degree in heavy machine (optional) and you need to complete an apprenticeship (from 3 to 4 years).
