2. Word of the Week
This week the word is enhance. To enhance something means make something more valuable or more attractive. Use this word in a sentence like this: ‘If you have a well-kept garden, it may enhance the value of your house’. For more information about word of the week check out the blue notice board in the library area.

4. Rag Bag Collection The next rag bag collection
is taking place on Tuesday 7th March
from the school. 
If you have any old or unwanted clean, dry clothing, paired shoes, bags, ties etc please hand them to the office . 
No wet clothing, pillows, cushions,
 duvets or rugs. 

5. Activities Day Activities Day is not that far away!!
Choice sheets will be in your registration folder today.
You have the choice of - Blair Drummond, Escape, Ratho Climbing, Laser Quest, Edinburgh Zoo, Paintball, Glasgow Science Centre, History Challenge, Blackpool Pleasure Beach (S5 & S6only) as well as activities in school.
Can you please return your form
TO YOUR REGISTRATION TEACHER before FRIDAY 17 MARCH.
DO NOT BRING MONEY AT THIS STAGE … once activity is confirmed you will be given a consent form and asked to pay on return of this.

6. Warning
Please note:  internal gates are locked after school so if you are staying on for an activity or for supported study please leave by the
main door at the front of the school
to avoid being trapped within internal gates.

7. SQA MUSIC PRACTICAL EXAMS
MONDAY 6 AND TUESDAY 7TH MARCH
There will be no period bells on these dates above.
However the only bells will be at the start of school day/morning break/lunch and end of school day only.

8. S5 EE Bake Sale
Monday 6th March Break and Lunch in the foyer Cupcakes, truffles, brownies and more Prices range from 30p to £1 with special offers Please come along!

9. Drop In/Peer Mentoring
Starting on Monday 27th February, there will be a
lunch time drop in every day from
Monday-Thursday where you can come along to get to know some of the senior pupils, discuss different issues or just have a chat!
These lunch time drop-ins will be ongoing, therefore feel free to join us in Base 6 on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday or the conference room on a Wednesday,
at any point during the school year. 

12. S3 FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT
S3 FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT WEDNESDAY 15TH MARCH, P1 & P2 OUTSIDE ASTROTURF PITCH See Brian Chapman if you want to play and he will put your name down.

There is a list of study support opportunities available on the website.
There are also some paper copies in the school office if you would like to collect one.
Please make as much use of these valuable opportunities as possible to support your success in the May exams – they will make a difference!

14. S4 – BRIGHEST WATTS
S4s are you thinking of going onto university and wondering what university life is like, why not experience it for a week.
Particularly if interested in careers in Science,Technology, Engineering, Maths or Business.
Applications are currently open for Heriot Watts summer week.
This opportunity is free and takes place (24-28 July).

15. S4 - CAREER IN LAW
S4/5 Students interesting in a career in Law? Are you invested in a weeks work experience with RBS legal team? You will also get the opportunity to be a part of a mock trial and spend time in a city centre law firm. Dates - Mon 19 June - Friday 23 June If interested speak to Ms McGregor for more informed an application form. Deadline for applications is Friday 17 March.

Any pupils attending the London trip in
June 2017 should attend a meeting on Monday at break in B26.
Also, final payment of £79 is due on 10th March.

If you fail to hand in before this date you will be unable to attend Prom and you will lose your deposit.
