6.   Recruitment and training day on Friday 12 th September for all unemployed East Ayrshire residents.  This will provide an excellent opportunity for you to find out about local training and employment opportunities.  The event is being supported by East Ayrshire Council, Skills Development Scotland, DWP, Ayrshire Chamber of Commerce and Ayrshire College and a number of employers and training providers will be attending to promote their current opportunities.  Information will also be provided at the event on recruitment incentives available to recruit people aged 16-29 years old to assist with the wage costs.  The event will start from 10.30am - 12.30pm so pop into the Grand Hall, Kilmarnock and get your career started!  If you would like any further information please contact employability@east- ayrshire.gov.uk or call 01563 503000employability@east- ayrshire.gov.uk 

7.  Senior pupils attending the above debate should submit any questions they would like to be considered / included by Thursday of this week (29 th ).  To submit a question, post your question in the black box inside Miss Reid’s room G170 (pre- printed forms available if required).  Please also include your name and indicate whether you would like to be considered as one the five pupils who will sit in the question area in front of the stage. If you do wish to be considered for this please also indicate whether you are a ‘yes’, ‘no’ or ‘undecided’ voter.  Consent forms will be issued this week through your mentor class and must be returned asap. Further details will follow regarding travel arrangements.  See Miss Reid for any further info in the meantime.

8. If you have Miss Reid’s copy of The General Election DVD (purple case) can it be returned ASAP please !!!!!!!!!

9. A reminder to everyone that the Provost of East Ayrshire, Jim Todd, will be visiting the school on Friday at 2pm to review the trip. All pupils who went to Belgium and any staff who wish to come along are welcome. We will be in the library from 2pm.

10. There will be a scalextric club in the technology department every Tuesday lunchtime. If you are interested please see Mr Clements today at Lunchtime in G175. Come along to design, make and race scalextric cars! Please read to all S3 pupils

11.  Lunch time drop-in sessions with the school nurse will resume Thursday 28 th Aug.  Can all S2 girls please be reminded that I will be available at the drop-in session to discuss the HPV immunisation which will be carried out at school in Sept.

12.  Trials for the S1 Football Team tomorrow (Wednesday 27th) after school on the Astro. Come to the PE Department after period 6 at 3:30 where you can get changed. The trials will be finished by 4:30pm.

13.  Mini Trials on Saturday 27th September, any pupils wishing to pursue a career in law should attend a meeting in K.McGregor's room (the stage) on Tuesday 26th of August at 1.10pm. 
