3 Help! We are looking for information for a project : Do you have any connections with the US Navy base in the Holy Loch? Do you have a relative who married one of the sailors? Did they stay here, or move to America? Do you know any Americans who stayed? If so speak to the school media team: Nicola Stewart, Beth Hunter, Amy Thompson. (Speak to Mrs Neish or Mrs Newlands for info about the project)

6 Girls Football We are currently looking to develop the girls football at DGS and would like as many girls as possible to come to the Girls Football club on Thursdays after school. Pupils from all years are welcome. Many girls played in the primary school football festivals and we want to give you the opportunity to carry on with your football. There are a number of fixtures planned if we get enough interested girls. On Wednesday 21 st September there is a Girls Football Development Day being held at DGS and run by the SFA. If you would like to participate in this event then sign up on the list in the PE Office.

7 S5/6 Assembly House Time Wednesday 14th September Please could all S5/6 pupils register with their House Teacher and come to the forum as quickly as possible for an assembly. Thanks, Mrs K. Campbell

8  There is a Skills Scotland Careers Exhibition at the SECC on Wednesday 26 October.  We have a provisional booking for between 30 and 40 pupils to attend.  It is a worthwhile event for S5 pupils to attend, in particular those who are unlikely to go to University.  If you are interested in attending, can you please pass your name to Mr Stewart by Friday 16 Sept. The cost will be between £6.50 and £9.50 depending on numbers.

9 Mr Beautyman will be running his “Make a Difference” multi sports club every Monday at lunchtime. This club is open to pupils in all age groups and will take place in the Games Hall.

10 Shinty The Shinty Club is starting again after school on Mondays from 4.00pm – 5.30pm. All pupils are welcome from S1 – S6. Any new S1’s who either played at their primary school or would like to take up the game will be especially welcome.

16 Craft Club runs every Tuesday in C114 from 3.45 till 4.45 pm. If you are interested come along and see what activities are available or bring your own ideas. This is open to all students who want to learn a variety of craft skills. New members welcome. If you want to know more ask Ms. Newlands, Ms. McKillop or Mrs. Stewart. DGS Craft Club every Tuesday
