2. History It started in England. During the 19th century.
The first mens field hockey club started in 1949.
It’s first Olympic appearance was in 1908 at the London games.
In 1887 there was the first womens field hockey club.
It is one of the worlds oldest sports.

3. Rules. 11-16 players per team. It can be played indoor or outdoor.
The positions are fullbacks, midfielders, and halfbacks, goal keepers, and finally forwards.
The goal is 7 feet high and 12 feet wide.
The goal is known as the shooting circle.
Is played on synthetic sufaces.

4. More
Left handed sticks are rare and pointless because they are not allowed in games.
Each game consists of 2 halfs each usually between minutes long.

5. General It is a team sport. It is played in many countries.
The FIH is the main governing body.
It’s nickname is hockey.
There is no physical contact.
There are 4000 year old drawings of field hockey in Egypt.
The game has umpires.
