4 Be an Archaeologist: Imagine that you have walked into an abandoned home. The home has been vacant for 50 plus years. You walk in and find items of the people who once lived there. What do these items tell you about them? List each item and tell what each tells you about the people who once lived there.

10 Bell ringer: August 24 We have been talking about archaeologists and what they study. We know that they study what people left behind. What are the items that people leave behind known as? (See page 10 ) Answer: The items left behind that archaeologist study are called artifacts. Artifact– objects created and used by humans

11 Primary source vs secondary source
Primary source– an account of an event based on a person that was there Secondary Source– an account of a person who was not there to take part in or witness an event Task #1 Primary Source vs. Secondary Source Sylenna, Melissa, Kalvin, and George were all on the playground. Sylenna and Melissa were on the swings away from Kalvin and George when they heard a scream. As the girls turned they see George on the ground holding his arm. The girls run to the teacher and tell that George is hurt. The teacher is interested in knowing exactly what happened. Who do you think the teacher wants to talk to first? Identify the primary source(s)and secondary source(s).

Geography is the study of the earth’s physical and cultural features. Define Landforms. Landforms are natural features of the land’s surface, such as mountains, valleys, and plains. With your elbow partner, read through and make any notes you choose about the terms you see on the board. See pages H22-H23
