1 6th Grade Country Project
Overview and Example Pages

2 6th Grade Country Project
To the left is an example of a project cover. The name of the country is prominent. This student put his name on the inside cover, but it could have gone on the front cover as well. Pictures, designs, flags, and other artwork (in this case, the nation’s shield) help to make the cover attractive.

3 6th Grade Country Project
The first page of the project is the Table of Contents. This is probably the last thing you will do. This student just listed the order of the sections, but you can also number the pages and indicate their locations here.

4 6th Grade Country Project
This student used construction paper to make an attractive flag of the nation. The flag must be hand created. It can be drawn and colored, painted, sewn, or some other means of hand creating the flag. It cannot be printed from your computer.

5 6th Grade Country Project
To the right you will see this student’s hand drawn map. He also included a printed copy which is OK, but not necessary. The graded map will be the hand created one. Be sure to label the capital, major cities, and the important geographic features such as mountains and oceans.

6 6th Grade Country Project
This student used a colorful page with pictures and charts to introduce the Geography and Climate section. These section dividers can make the project more attractive.

The remaining sections should be completed in a similar way. Refer to the Assignment page for more detailed information concerning what should be included in each section. A website called thinkquest.org may be helpful in finding info about 12 year olds in some countries. You can call me at the school at or reach me by at
