3 CURRENT STATUS: INFRASTRCUTRE
Phase I, III and III of the National Data Backbone Infrastructure have been concluded with a total of 2, Km Optical fiber cable laid. 66 Police CCTV cameras in Kampala and Entebbe connected. 24*7 (NOC) Network Operations Centre was established. Environmental Management System (EMS) installed in 25 Transmission sites. 9

4 CURRENT STATUS: NITA-U SERVICES
Total of 256 MDA/LGs connected to the NBI. 69 utilizing Integrated Financial Management System (IFMS) 150 utilizing Internet Bandwidth, data links/leased line services. 186 free public Wi-Fi hotspots around Kampala CBD and Entebbe. 14 MDAs hosted at the National Data Center for IaaS, BaaS PaaS and collocation services. 600 staff from State House, Ministry of ICT and NITA-U are using the NBI for . 45 IT companies have been certified. 268 Websites have been developed and 272 Web masters and ICT MDA staff trained 9

5 CURRENT STATUS: ONLINE GOVERNMENT SERVICES
A total of 158 applications and systems have been developed. Highly digitized sectors are; Accountability, Health & Justice, Law and Order Sector. In addition 71 Government services can now be accessed online on the citizens’ portal. DCIC E-VISA URA E-TAX KCCA E-CITIE UIA ONE STOP CENTER NITA-U E-CITIZENS PORTAL

6 CURRENT STATUS: UGANDA’S E-GOVERNMENT RANKING
The UN e-Government Survey 2016 Report reflects that Uganda has greatly improved in its global e-government development index from rank 156 to rank 128. The 2016 E-Government status for Uganda is estimated at 36 percent compared to the World’s average of 49.2 percent.  The Online Service status for Uganda has improved from 14.9% in 2014 to 50% in 2016 compared to the 20% average for Least Developed Countries (LDCs). Therefore Uganda is now grouped in countries with  a High Online Service Index (Between 0.50 and 0.75) Uganda’s e-government ranking by components; Source: UN Reports
