Life Science (Branch) Life Science- any science that deals with living organisms, their life processes, and the way they interact with other organisms Areas of study: (Twigs) Biology- Study of living things Anatomy- Study of plant and animal structure Botany- Study of plants Ecology- Study of how organisms interact with one another and their environment Zoology- Study of animals and their life.

Physical Science Physical Science- Any of the sciences dealing with matter, energy, physics, or chemistry Areas of study Chemistry- Study of matters composition, properties, reactions, and structure. Physics- Study of matter and energy and the interactions between them. (Ex. gravity, light, time)

Earth Science Earth/Space Science-any sciences that deal with the earth or space, what it’s made up of, or any of its changing aspects. (land structures, oceans, weather etc.) Areas of study Geology- Study of Earth’s structures Meteorology- Study of the atmosphere including weather and climate Paleontology- Study of the forms of life that existed in prehistoric age Astronomy- Study of the universe beyond the earth's atmosphere

Picture It! Scientist Please write your first and last name on the back of your sheet of your paper. Close your eyes and imagine a scientist in a specific career. Questions to consider as your imagine... - Do all scientists look the same? - Do all scientists use the same tools or work in the same environment? - Do all scientists study the exact same things? Open your eyes . Use colored pencils to illustrate what you imagined. Don’t worry about the quality of your artwork…just do your best. Be sure to include some of the tools your scientist may use or what their work place may look like.
