From our Vision our school aims and intended outcomes are To enjoy learning To work with others using initiative and self discipline To be curious; to question and reason, not just to accept To be creative in what we think and do To show tolerance and respect for ourselves and others To appreciate and value others now and those that came before us Happiness Independance Trust Respect Friendship Honesty Adaptability Peace Unity Love Understanding

French is taught throughout Key Stages 1 and 2. Academic Standards
The Curriculum We have an exciting skill based creative curriculum. This provides children with rich, diverse first hand experiences which are based around practical fun activities. We are a forest school and encourage learning outside of the classroom. We work closely with parents and the community to help our children get the best from their learning. Literacy and Numeracy are taught in a daily lesson that are linked to our topics as are the other National Curriculum subjects where it is practical and sensible to do so. French is taught throughout Key Stages 1 and 2. Academic Standards We are extremely proud of our academic standards. At the end of Key Stage 1 (Year 2) standards are significantly above local and national expectations in reading, writing and numeracy. In Year 4 when our children leave us they continue to achieve high standards; attainment in reading, writing and numeracy is significantly above local national expectations. Extra Curricular As well as Moggy Minors wrap around care we offer a variety of extra curricular clubs run by staff and outside providers.

Breakfast Club runs from 8am with breakfast offered until Our After School Club runs from 3.15 – 6pm. Both clubs are popular and are run by qualified and experienced staff. There are daily themed sessions and the children have the opportunity to help decide the activities that will take place. Please see our website or contact the school office for further details and pricing schedules. School Meals We are able to offer meals cooked on site by our lovely cook Mrs Hulatt of Cambridge Catering Services. The meals adhere to the regulations of healthy nutrition designated by the School Food Trust and are enjoyed by many of our children and staff. Children may also bring a healthy packed lunch from home. Water is provided at mealtimes for everyone. Healthy eating is important to us at Moggerhanger. Children in Reception, Year 1 and 2 are all provided with a piece of fruit daily at snack time, free of charge. Children enter the school in the school year in which they turn five. They enter the Reception Class in one intake in the September. Many of the children come from our nursery class that forms part of our new Foundation Unit that opened in September The children enter the nursery in the term after they turn 3. Admissions at Moggerhanger are based on our agreed admissions policy – further details of this can be found on our website. Transfer to Middle School In the September following their 9th birthday, children transfer to Middle School (usually Alban Academy or Sandye Place Academy, Sandy). The Local Authority School Admissions Service sends out details early in the school year before transfer. There is close liaison with both schools particularly Sandye Place Academy as we are both members of the Pinnacle Trust. We work with the schools to ensure transition is a smooth, enjoyable and exciting process for the children.
