2 Honors Night- May 18 Honors Night is a scholarship and awards ceremony where we honor seniors who have excelled in academic endeavors. It is also a time for community organizations, community members and faculty to show their support for NSBHS seniors by investing in our graduates so they can continue their education through higher learning, whether it is a college/university or vocational program. About one-half million dollars in local scholarships will be awarded on honors night. In addition to the scholarships, the departmental awards and the wall of fame will be announced. Come support your classmates and help us celebrate your successes 

3 Honors Night- May 18 Important! - If you applied for a scholarship, you must be in attendance for honors night practice & ceremony to get the scholarship! Departmental Awards will also be awarded. We encourage you to attend  Honors Night Practice: When? Tuesday May 16: 4th - 5th Periods Where? NSBHS Auditorium Honors Night Ceremony: When? Thursday May 6:00 (Students must arrive by 5:15)

4 Baccalaureate May 18 When? Tuesday May 23 @ 6:00 pm
Where? First Baptist Church, 200 Faulkner Street New Smyrna Beach

5 Senior Legacy Walk & Breakfast – May 19
Come to celebrate with your peers one last time before graduation! When? Friday May 8:45 am Don’t forget to wear your 2017 Senior T-shirt 

6 Graduation Cap & Gown: Available in the Activities Office, Ms. Conner in room Senior Dues, $80, must be paid, Room (cash or check made out to New Smyrna Beach High School) to receive your cap & gown. Graduation Senior Meeting: When? Tuesday May 16 – 3rd Period Graduation Requirements Deadline: When? Friday May 19 by 12:00 (All Courses Must Be Completed by This Time – Including Credit Retrieval Lab, Volusia Virtual and Florida Virtual School Courses)

7 Graduation Graduation Practice:
When? Wednesday May 12:30 (Park & be inside the arena by 12:00, free parking in the SOUTH LOT) Where? Ocean Center, Daytona Beach Graduation Ceremony: When? Saturday May 12:30 (Graduates must arrive inside the arena by 11:15, dressed & ready )- Leave with plenty of time  If there is heavy traffic, use the alternate route by going over the Seabreeze bridge & going south to the Ocean Center

8 Please buy your tickets & parking passes early 
Graduation Tickets Graduation Tickets: $3.00 each/Parking Passes: $5.00 per vehicle When? Student may purchase graduation tickets & parking passes in the Activities office in room (2-116) from Ms. Connor. Tickets & parking passes will be available to purchase beginning Tuesday May 2 – Tuesday May 23. After May 23, tickets can only be purchased at the Ocean Center gate. Remember, there is a possibility that the tickets could be sold out before graduation day. All guests will need a ticket to enter the ceremony and each car will need a parking pass. Please buy your tickets & parking passes early 

9 Expectations for the Class of 2017
Thank you in advance for providing a great example to students with your mature and responsible behavior  Please remember… Participation in ALL SENIOR EVENTS is a privilege & not a right Each Cuda 2017 Senior will conduct himself/herself in a manner appropriate to the occasion and will always be respectful to his/her fellow classmates, school personnel, family, and guests in attendance. Disrespectful or disruptive behavior such as described in the student code of conduct shall be grounds for removal from ALL SENIOR EVENTS, including graduation ceremonies.

10 Dress Code & Expectations for ALL Senior Events
Hairstyles are to be kept simple so that graduation caps will fit on the head properly. Caps are to be level on head and may not be decorated. Leave sunglasses, hats, phones and purses at home or vehicle. There will be no one to care for valuables during the ceremonies. NO GUM! No extra adornments on the gown such as corsages, pins, medals, etc. Only those items distributed by school personnel can be worn on or over the gown.

11 Graduation Ceremony Dress Code
Female Graduates: Wear a cool, lightweight dress or skirt and blouse under the graduation gown; choose a style with simple neckline which will not interfere with the neckline of the graduation gown. Light colored dresses with white gowns. Dresses should not hang below the graduation gown. Wear black dress shoes with medium size (height) heels with red gown, or neutral colored (white or tan) shoes with white gowns. Male Graduates: Wear black or navy dress pants and black dress shoes – no jeans, sneakers, topsiders, flip flops, or sandals are allowed. Wear a dress shirt with a collar and a men’s tie. Concerns?
