6 The "Cyclorama" was a popular form of entertainment in the late 1800's
The "Cyclorama" was a popular form of entertainment in the late 1800's. These massive paintings were displayed in circular auditoriums. They were enhanced with landscaped foregrounds sometimes featuring trees, grasses, fences and even life-sized figures. The result was a three- dimensional effect that surrounded the viewers who stood on a platform, literally placing them in the center of the great historic scene.  The Gettysburg Cyclorama is 359 feet long, 27 feet high and weighs an estimated 3 tons

11 The civil war timeline 1861-1865
April 9th, 1865 General Robert E. Lee of the Confederate States of America met with Ulysses S. Grant and agreed on the terms of surrender ending the war April 14th, 1865 as President Lincoln was watching a performance at Ford's Theater in Washington, D.C., he was shot by John Wilkes Booth, an actor from Maryland obsessed with avenging the Confederate defeat. Lincoln died the next morning. A Sesquicentennial Anniversary is 150 years.
