12 At YSU, course placement is determined by ACT/SAT scores
Students can “challenge” by taking placement tests In the past, students were not charged Effective Spring 17, the new math assessment is ALEKS PPL; Reading is Accuplacer ALEKS PPL provides tutorials, practice tests and official placement assessment It is considered remediation by the state and not covered under CCP Students who choose to “challenge” their math score pay a $25 (plus tax) user fee to ALEKS for access YSU Placement Tests

13 Math 1571: Calculus Placement
Effective Fall 2017, for high school based Calculus, Math ACT sub-score of 25 or higher Campus based Calculus remains a Math ACT sub-score of 27 Students who complete YSU Math 1510 AND 1511 with a C or better can place into Calculus regardless of Math ACT score Math ACT score of 22 qualifies student for Math 1510/1511 Math 1571: Calculus Placement

14 CTC Students in ODDEX Per the Ohio Department of Education
CTC students are listed with the Home School in ODDEX If the student is half time with each school, each school is responsible for half of the cost If the student is full time CTC, ODE will change it Questions on this process should be directed to ODE CTC Students in ODDEX

15 Late Withdrawal Requests
What is a late W? Notifying our office after the 14th day of the term that a student is enrolled for a CCP HS based course he/she signed up for, that is not listed on his/her HS schedule No longer accepted – why? The student, parent and school are notified prior to the start of the term what class(es) the student is enrolled in YSU submits billing within two weeks after the 15th day of the term Late Withdrawal Requests

16 Late Change of Registration Requests
New process! Once billing is submitted, any late withdrawals are treated as a W School is charged Student can appeal the W through the YSU Fees & Charges Board What you can do to keep this from happening? Check your roster, check your roster, check your roster! Why this is so important! Jeanne Herman, University Registrar & Gloria Kobus, University Bursar Late Change of Registration Requests

17 Change of Registration Form
Effective the school year No longer accept changes via Adding a program withdrawal option If a student has attended orientation, we will not remove him/her from the program without the form Why? Not qualifying for a high school based course does not mean the student does not want to enroll in a campus or online course Form provides us with the student’s intent Change of Registration Form
