Coaching Philosophy Success is Built Daily! Meet in the Middle
Open Door Policy: 24 Hour Rule! Drug/Alcohol Policy “Energy Bus”
20
Success is built DAILY Effort Attitude Attendance Ownership
Performance
21
Meet in the MIDDLE
22
Open Door Policy How it works Setting up a meeting Action Plans Follow up Players responsibility How can you help your athlete? We will hold to the 24 Hour Rule: No communication with Coaches within 24 hours of games, etc.
23
Zero Tolerance Drug/Alcohol Policy
Drinking, smoking, and Drugs are a choice. Players on this team who make the choice to attend parties that put themselves at risk will potentially lose their roster spot The school policy requires missed games. The maximum loss of season eligibility will be followed per school policy, plus additional team consequences including more playing time loss, loss of captain title, or removal from the team and loss of letter award. If this is a policy that may be an issue for you then this team is not for you. Your team counts on you to stay safe, stay eligible, and stay within the team policies. Your attendance at tryouts will be your acceptance of this policy.
24
Google DOCS Competition

25
“The Energy Bus” Get a copy of “The Energy Bus” by Jon Gordon
This is required reading before the season for all players Available at any book store, online, and in audiobooks
26
Tryouts are open to: All interested and academically eligible high school LNHS Students. Returning 8th grade students who held a roster position last season as a 7th grader. Other 8th grade students will be considered at special request if they and their parents believe they are mature enough to handle a high school tryout. High School players will be given first consideration for roster spots unless the 8th grade athlete falls under the exceptional athlete rule. NOTE: The high school team is significantly more physical and intense than a youth program. Most middle school students will thrive in a MS based program more than playing up. It is our wish that the LNHS program be comprised of competitive high school athletes and that MS involvement become the exception rather than the rule. 7th grade students will not be invited to tryout unless they fit the exceptional athlete rule and meet a series of physical fitness and skill tests.
27
Tryouts continued: Will Players be cut from the team?
The Energy Vampire exception… Team Placement – what are we looking for? - Stick-work (60 wall balls in 60 seconds) - Conditioning, strength, speed, endurance - Maturity, attitude, focus, attendance - Athleticism - How you treat your teammates - Academic Eligibility (Student first)
28

Bring your sticks and have your strings evaluated or fixed. Try out different kinds of equipment, learn the pros and cons of each kind Size Apparel Order apparel, equipment Bring friends who might be interested in learning more about trying a new sport! Meeting will be mid February so we can get apparel ordered and delivered before tryouts.

30
Volunteers We will be using Sign-Up Genius, so you will need to log-in and sign up for open items. Will need 3-4 items/Family to make this work. Immediate Volunteer Needs: Sell District Football Games on Saturday November 1:30 & 4:30. Concessions during Winter Sporting Lakeville North Coaches teach the game, lead the players, evaluate, plan, and coordinate. Parents run the business of keeping the program running. Every little bit makes you an integral part of our success. More volunteers means less work piled on anyone. Use your strengths to help make us great! Just as no one player can carry a team, no one parent can carry the load of work that goes on behind the scenes.
