TNHS Graduation Requirements
Earn a total of 225 credits Pass specific subject requirements English: 40 credits (4 years) History/Social Science: 30 credits (3 years) Math: 30 credits (3 years) Laboratory Science: 20 credits (2 years) Fine Art or Language Other Than English: 10 credits (1 year) Career Technical Education (CTE): 10 credits (1 year) Physical Education: 20 credits (2 years) Health: 5 credits (1 semester) Electives: 60 credits

Seniors in good academic standing should have 180 credits to date Minimum number of credits required for senior status is 165 See your counselor for transcript review

Minimum of 15 yearlong “a-g” courses in grades 9-12 Seven of these courses must be taken in the last two years of high school Minimum GPA of 3.0 in “a-g” coursework SAT Reasoning Test with Essay or ACT with Writing

Filing period: November 1st-November 30th Students may access the online application now! Fee: $70 per campus UC will waive application fees for up to 4 campuses for qualified students Application includes a personal statement Choose 4 out of 8 short-answer questions 350 word maximum/question You will have 8 questions to choose from. You must respond to only 4 of the 8 questions. Each response is limited to a maximum of 350 words. Which questions you choose to answer is entirely up to you: But you should select questions that are most relevant to your experience and that best reflect your individual circumstances. All questions are equal: All are given equal consideration in the application review process, which means there is no advantage or disadvantage to choosing certain questions over others. There is no right or wrong way to answer these questions: It’s about getting to know your personality, background, interests and achievements in your own unique voice.

October 1st Sept. 1st (Sept. 13th late registration) November 5th Oct. 7th (Oct. 18yh late registration) December 3rd Nov. 3rd (Nov. 15th late registration) Fees* SAT Reasoning Test: $45 SAT with Essay: $57 SAT Subject Tests Basic Registration: $26 Language Test w/Listening: add $26 All other Subject Tests: add $20 *Fee waivers available to students on the subsidized lunch program; please see Counselor UC Info: If you're applying for admission to the fall term, be sure to take your admissions tests no later than December of your senior year/last year prior to high school/secondary school graduation — preferably earlier — to ensure that your application receives prompt and full consideration. It is unlikely that scores from tests taken after our December deadline will arrive in our office in time for our review process. Report ACT and/or SAT scores on your admissions application, then request that an official copy of the scores be sent to us from the testing agency. You can have your official score report sent to one UC campus, and all campuses you apply to will receive it. In the College Board's Score Choice module, ensure that all scores are sent to UC. We require all scores and will use the highest scores from a single administration. For the ACT with Writing test, we will focus on the highest combined score from the same test administration. For the SAT Reasoning Test, we will focus on the highest total score from a single test date. We do not require results of tests taken for the purpose of talent programs in middle or junior high school (e.g., Johns Hopkins Center for Talent Youth, Duke University's Talent Identification Program, UC Berkeley's Academic Talent and Development Program, etc.). The ACT Composite score is used for admission to the CSU. The ACT also offers, as an option, the Writing Test. The CSU does not require the score from the Writing Test for admission purposes.
