Tempus SMGR BE ESABIH EU standards for accreditation of study programs on BH Universities

2 Chapter 1: Introduction
From 1997 to Study of Informatics with a two-year undergraduate programe Faculty of Information Technology (FIT) was established in 2002. From 2002 to 2008 – first cycle of studies, takes 4 years (240 ECTS) From 2008 – first cycle of studies, takes 3 years (180 ECTS) and leads to the acquisition of the degree: Bachelor of Information Technologies Following the dynamic development of information technology, the curriculum of the first cycle of studies was changed on several occasions. Participants: Professors, teaching-assistants, representatives of employers of graduate students of FIT, professors from EU Universities and representatives of FIT students.

3 Chapter 3: Human resources (I)
3.1. Quality of teaching staff Regulation on Minimum requirements acquiring the title for the teaching staff Teaching staff participates in international projects for improvement of own quality Specific evaluation procedures don’t exist and need to be developed for teaching staff “Human Resources Management Policy” exists at University level, but there isn't any control of this document It’s necessary to have strong cooperation with the didactic and methodology department at the Faculty of Education Science The University center for LLL and Center for modernization of curriculum should prepare courses for teaching staff

3.1. Harmonization of professional and academic requirements 40 agreements of cooperation with companies from IT sectors 5 national projects and 10 international projects in the last 3 years (FIT was a partner in FP7 „ICT-WEB-PROMS” ) Teaching staff and students participate in several projects of development Information systems for the local community (hospital IS, distance learning platform, IS for QA at our University, interactive map of Mostar and interactive 3D map of campus of our university, etc.) Role: analysis, design and implementation of modules of information system, network design and implementation, consulting etc Currently we’re working on the improvement of the conditions in the robotics laboratory In the future we want to improve conditions for professional education in the laboratories at the faculty and in the institute of Software engineering

5 Chapter 3: Human resources(III)
3.3. The number of employed teachers There is a lack of professors in the filed of IT The number of the external associates is going to decrease in the period of one to three years because a significant number of FIT senior assistants are currently working on their doctoral dissertation

6 Chapter 5: Physical resources
Investments, upgrading of resources, and the purchase of equipment are planed every year on the basis of a financial plan 6 computer rooms (110 computers) Laboratory for robotics, laboratory for computer system architecture and laboratory for information system security and protection 2 amphitheatres and two classrooms for organization of workshops, round tables and meetings Teaching and administrative staff have adequate office facilities and equipment There is one office for guest professors There is a library, but currently there is a small amount of books and magazines A priority in the following period is the purchase of necessary literature for the library

6.1. Evaluation results QA policy defined at the University level University QA office conducts an evaluation of the courses, teachers and learning resources every two years Target group of the survey are all students who attend classes The QA policy at University level defines measures for improvement of the teaching process and the correction of poor results The faculty is planning the teaching process on an annual basis To monitor the plan the faculty organizes weekly working meetings to analyze the teaching process Tutoring groups for first year students to decrease the drop-out rate on the firs year of study In the future, we are going to develop adaptive information system for QA

6.2. Measures for improvement of study programe The curriculum has been changed several times Project “Evaluation of existing curriculum” Target group of project: the graduates and their employers Analyzing the obtained evaluation results, we received instruction how to improve the curriculum The plan is to evaluate information collected from a representative group of alumni and their employers every two years

6.3. Inclusion of staff/colleagues, students, graduates(alumni) and the labor market/profession One representative of students for each study program is involved in the work of the Teaching and Scientific Council One person from the teaching staff is responsible for QA – Coordinator for QA All employees of the faculty participate in the projects initiated by the coordinator for QA All decisions on QA must be made by the Teaching and Scientific Council. The labor market where our graduates find employment is included in the process of QA E-learning platform is for the support of full-time students, distance learning students and it is also there to upgrade and improve the knowledge and skills of our graduates within a LLL process In the future, FIT would like to establish an University e-learning center that will provide support for all faculties in the process of formal education and which will enable and be the main support of LLL process
