2 What’s Igloo? It’s a modern intranet platform you’ll actually like!
Flexible to fit the needs of our business Helps us achieve our organizational goals Igloo is a modern intranet platform, that you’ll actually like. The flexibility of the Igloo platform allows us to design the intranet to fit the needs of our business. Whether we’re looking to reduce the number of s sent, align teams around a specific project or vision, or just share knowledge more efficiently, this intranet will help us achieve our goals.

3 Corporate Communications
Getting Started Let’s cover the basics. Corporate Communications Team Collaboration Knowledge Management Social Workflow Today, I’ll walk you through the basics to help you get acquainted with Igloo. We’ll cover the essentials, step by step, so you can get the most out of your intranet. Igloo allows for better corporate communication and provides secure knowledge management, so teams can collaborate better and be more productive. And with social networking built-in to the platform, there are familiar social features that promote interactive communication, so everyone on the team stays up to date and projects keep moving along with ease.

4 It’s All In The Cloud The great thing about Igloo is that it’s a cloud solution. You can access it from any web browser – even on a mobile device. Smartphone Tablet Laptop The great thing about Igloo, is that it’s a cloud solution. Why is that great? Simple. Because, you can access it from any web browser – even on a mobile device. So whether you’re traveling abroad, working from home, or stuck in a waiting room with time to kill, you can access Igloo from your smartphone, tablet or laptop just as you would from your desktop computer.

5 Creating Your Profile Your profile can:
Help people match you with your skillset Work as an icebreaker Tips: Keep your profile simple, concise, and up to date Add a recent picture Throw in some fun facts about yourself Include contact information But, first things first. You need to create a profile. A profile can help other people within our company match you with your skillset. Plus, it can be a great icebreaker, helping introduce you to people before you actually meet face to face. We’ve all likely created profiles before – typically on social media sites like Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn. Much of the same applies when creating a profile for the intranet.

6 Let’s Talk About Apps Your Igloo is built around apps to help you stay organized, including: Igloo is built around apps, with a suite of six features to help you stay organized. These apps include: file sharing, blogs and microblogs, calendars, tasks, forums and wikis. Today, we’ll cover the top three apps – file sharing, blogs and microblogs, and calendars, in more detail. File Sharing Blog and Microblogs Calendars Tasks Forums Wikis

7 Sharing Files Sharing files has never been easier.
Drag and drop upload Inline preview Built-in version control It’s designed with drag and drop upload so you can literally drag files from your desktop onto the intranet, in one simple step. And, it has inline preview, so you know what you’re looking at before you actually open the document. Plus, it has built-in version control, so we never have to deal with multiple versions of documents ever again. No more wondering if you’re working from the most recent file, or waiting for someone to a document back to you to make your edits. Now, your whole team can work from the most recent document and it’s stored in a central holding place, so you’re never caught searching for it again.

8 Blogging Blogging is a great way to share information and ask questions – and the key is consistency. Content calendars are a great way to maintain a regular schedule: Content type and subject Keep it filled! Intranetiquette Guide: helpful tips on creating engaging content Blogging is a great way to share information and ask for feedback from a large group of people in the organization. The key to a good blogging program is consistency, which means we need to have a system in place to ensure we’re maintaining a regular blogging schedule, which is where a content calendar becomes very handy. A content calendar is a place where we can clearly define the types of content and subjects we want to include on our site. It’s important to keep a content calendar filled, and consistent. That’s how we’ll make sure each subject and type of blog is being written about each month. Don’t forget to check out the Intranetiquette Guide that includes helpful writing tips and practical ways to promote collaboration and productive interaction with your team members.

9 Microblogs Microblogs are short blurbs or posts. There’s a microblog button in your personal bar. Use it to let your team know when you’ve uploaded something. Tips: Short, bite-sized pieces of content Right time of day (10 a.m. vs. 4:30 p.m.) Include an image Microblogs are like short blurbs, or posts that can be broadcast to all of the members in our Igloo community. You can create short, bite-sized pieces of content and blast them out to everyone to get a quick message out, or ask for feedback about a particular question you might have. Some good tips to remember about microblogs: If it’s more than 200 words, it’s probably a blog. Either cut it down, or post it as a full blog Keep your audience in mind. Post at the right time of day – no one wants to see a new “must-read” post at 4:30 p.m. on a Friday. People will be much more receptive to a 10 a.m. Tuesday, kind of post If it works with the content, include an image. No one likes a huge wall of text, so lighten the mood with some imagery.

10 Calendars Calendars keep everyone organized in one shared ‘meeting place.’ See who’s traveling, working from home, on vacation, etc. Compatible with Outlook and Gmail Accessible from any web browser, on any mobile device Calendars help keep projects on schedule by keeping everyone on the team organized in one, shared ‘meeting place.’ A good calendar will help you see who’s traveling, working from home, on vacation, or even just away for the afternoon. So, it’s important for all members of the team to use the calendar, and encourage its use among the larger team. The great thing about the Igloo calendar, is that it also works with Outlook and Gmail And, because Igloo’s available from any web browser, the calendar is too. That means, just like we discussed earlier, you can access the Igloo calendar from your smartphone, tablet or laptop, when you’re away from your desktop computer.
