About this template This is a template to guide you through making your science fair display board for the A Battery That Makes Cents project. This template will make it easier for you to create your science fair project display board. It will not give you all the answers. You still need to be the scientist doing the project and communicating your findings! Blue slides have important information and instructions for you. They tell you what to do next. White slides are the ones you will eventually print to put on your display board. Different teachers have different rules about what belongs on the display board. Check with your teacher to make sure you include everything required.

How to use your template
Step 1: Save a copy of the file you are working on with a new name so that you can use the original file if you need to start over. Step 2: Go in order. Read the directions on the blue slide. Then fill in the white slides as instructed. Repeat until the template is completely filled in. Step 3: When you are done, print out the white slides only. Step 4: Mount the printed-out white slides on a project display board. Putting colored construction paper behind each slide can make your board look even better.

Your Science Project Background Research
Before starting experiments, scientists always figure out what is already known about the subject. The background research section is your summary about what you learned before carrying out your experiment. Start by reading the background tab of the project and the references suggested there. Summarize what you have learned on the next slide. Make sure you at least cover what you learned about: What is electricity? How many types of metal do you need in a battery? What does the electrolyte in a battery do? Use your own words when writing your background. Copying text directly from Science Buddies or another reference would be plagiarism.
