18 Guiding Principles Culture of “We” New Destination
Support the Structure of Penn State Guiding Principles These guiding principles will serve as precepts that guide the efforts of the VP/CIO through the development of future goals, strategies and efforts to optimize the efficiency and effectiveness of Penn State information technology. Guiding Principle #1 - Moving toward a culture of “we” It is imperative to utilize an inclusive and collaborative approach when designing the future for information technology. Appropriately engaging campus stakeholders is critical to developing the “new normal” for IT at Penn State University. Guiding Principle #2 - A New Destination How will Penn State University leverage information technology, in the year 2020, and beyond? Are campus IT professionals positioning technology to be a differentiator and strategic resource for PSU? Are we developing thought leadership in areas key to the future of higher education? Guiding Principle #3 - Honoring the Culture and Structure Each campus, school, college and management center has very specific and specialized needs for IT support. Explore opportunities to leverage the collaborative nature of distributed IT in order to maximize efficiency and effectiveness in the delivery of IT support to the Penn State community. How do we leverage the legacy of Penn State IT to move to a new level of strategic success?
