2 Purpose The purpose of this webinar is to help producers prepare for the 2018 HCSC/HISC Producer Training & Certification Program by reviewing milestone dates, changes and requirements. This webinar does NOT replace the 2018 HCSC/HISC Producer Training & Certification process required by CMS.

6 Milestone Dates 2017 Training Note:
The 2017 AHIP curriculum will not be available after June 16, at 11:59 p.m. CT. Producers whom wish to complete the 2017 MAPD/PDP curriculum may instead take the 2018 AHIP curriculum along with the 2017 HCSC curriculum. Both curricula will be accessed via the HCSC/CMP website. The 2017 curriculum will remain on existing users to do lists but will only be available per request for newly on boarded producers. To request the curriculum assignment, please send an to

7 2018 Business Renewal Deadline
December 24, 2017 at 11:59 p.m. (Sub Agents) December 31, 2017 at 11:59 p.m. (All Agents/Agencies) In accordance with the guidelines established by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), all producers must be trained and certified annually in order to market, sell and/or service and receive renewal commissions on MAPD and PDP products sold subsequent to the 2008 plan year.

8 2018 Business Renewal Deadline
Failure to complete the 2018 HCSC/HISC Producer Training & Certification requirements by the established deadlines will result in: A producer’s book of business for Blue Cross MedicareRx and Blue Cross Medicare Advantage policies (where applicable) for CYs 2009 and forward being moved to a House Account A Book of Business moved to a House Account will NOT be returned if certification occurs after December 31, 2017 deadline or in a subsequent year

16 AHIP Fee Information HCSC has partnered with AHIP to provide a seamless training environment for completing both parts of the annual Medicare training required by CMS; use of the AHIP platform requires a fee. HCSC AHIP Fee: $125, a discount from the standard $175 rate. Producers must use one of the HCSC discounted links to receive the discount 2018 AHIP Curriculum Launch: Producers may use the designated HCSC/AHIP link on Monday, June 19, to receive the discount and access Part 1 (AHIP curriculum) 2018 HCSC Curriculum Launch: Producers may use the designated HCSC/CMP link on Wednesday July 5, to receive the discount and access both Part 1 (AHIP curriculum) and Part 2 (HCSC curriculum). Both links and detailed AHIP curriculum completion transmittal steps will be provided via the launch s and will be available on Blue Access for Producers (BAP).

17 AHIP and HCSC/CMP Exams
HCSC/CMP : Passing score is 85% on all exams, per CMS guidelines 3 attempts per exam AHIP: Passing score is 90% on all exams, per AHIP/CMS guidelines 3 attempts per exam, but a user may repurchase the AHIP curriculum an unlimited amount of times to achieve a passing score This rule only applies to the AHIP portion of the curriculum No lock-out period Can re-take exam immediately after a failed attempt via AHIP and HCSC exams

18 AHIP and HCSC/CMP Exams
Answer all exam questions The exam cannot be submitted unless all questions are answered and the ‘SUBMIT’ button has been selected If a user stops in the middle of an exam, if there is inactivity for 2 hours or exits the program, the exam will not count as long as the ‘SUBMIT’ button was not selected Unlike the courses, the exam will start from the beginning

On your first logon attempt, you must Create a New Account Use your 10 digit National Producer Number (including leading zeros) to initiate your account

Step 3 - Transfer AHIP curriculum completion to the CMP site: Producers will be asked to confirm they want to leave the HCSC page and go to the AHIP page

Step 4 –Once they complete the AHIP curriculum, they will transfer their credits to HCSC

Step 5 – Once they transfer their credits to HCSC, they will click on the button “Return to HCSC” in the upper right corner of the screen, to return to the HCSC page.

Step 6 – Once the producer returns to the HCSC page they will complete their remaining tasks in order. Each task will unlock upon completion.

40 Continuing Education Credits
During AHIP curriculum registration, producers will have the option to request the filing of applicable state CE credits for completing the AHIP portion of the certification process. Should you opt to receive CE credits for completing the AHIP portion of the training, the applicable fees must be paid at the individual producer level by credit card. Note: Should producers complete their 2018 AHIP curriculum prior to the state approval of CE credits, the agent will be required to retake the Final Exam task only. The agent can review course materials once more prior to completing the exam and they will not be assessed the AHIP $125 fee again only the CE credit fees.
