2 2 Training Objectives Overview of Enforcement Online Self Service Account Management  Requesting a forgotten password  Requesting a forgotten User ID  Unlocking a locked FMCSA Portal account  Changing a password

3 3 Introduction to Online Account Management The FMCSA Portal provides online self service account management Online Account Management:  Reduces the number of calls made to Technical Support  Notifies users when a password is going to expire  Provides the ability to change a password before it expires  Provides the ability to reset a forgotten password  Provides the ability to request a forgotten User ID  Provides the ability to unlock a locked FMCSA Portal account

4 4 Forgotten Passwords Click Forgot your password? on the FMCSA Portal login page if you have forgotten your password To reset your password  Enter your User ID  Click the Submit button  Once your User ID has been verified, answer the Security Identification questions previously provided on the Account Request Form  Enter your New Password twice to confirm accuracy.  Click the Submit Request button to finalize the password reset  A confirmation screen is presented for the Forgotten Password Request

5 5 Forgotten User IDs Click Forgot your User ID? on the Portal login page if you have forgotten your User ID To request your User ID  Enter your Email Address  Click the Submit button  Once your Email Address has been verified, answer the Security Identification questions previously provided on the Account Request Form  Click the Submit Request button to finalize the User ID request  A confirmation screen is presented for the Forgot User ID Request  You will receive an email, with your User ID

6 6 Unlock Account Request Click Need to Unlock your Account? on the Portal login page if your FMCSA Portal account has been locked To unlock your account  Enter your User ID  Click the Submit button  Once your User ID has been verified, answer the Security Identification questions previously provided on the Account Request Form  Click the Submit Request button to finalize the unlock account request  A confirmation screen is presented for the Unlock Account Request

7 7 Changing Passwords Click the Change Password link in the FMCSA Portal to change your password  Be prepared to enter both the old and new passwords  Passwords must adhere to the following rules:  A minimum of 8 characters which includes three of the following four: –upper case alpha –lower case alpha –numeric –special characters  Cannot repeat one of the last 5 passwords used

8 8 Review Forgotten passwords can be reset online via the FMCSA Portal login page by providing a valid User ID and answering Security Identification questions provided on the Account Request Form Forgotten User IDs can be reset online via the FMCSA Portal login page by providing a valid Email Address and answering Security Identification questions provided on the Account Request Form Locked FMCSA Portal accounts may be unlocked by by providing a valid User ID and answering Security Identification questions provided on the Account Request Form Passwords can be changed at anytime from within the FMCSA Portal
