3 Security The degree of protection against danger, loss and criminals.
Protection of some one's body, property and belongings. All the measure taken to control the loss is security

4 Security concepts Security is a journey, not a destination. Managers need to understand that security is never done. No threat, no security. Level of security depends upon the level of threat. Nobody can protect what's important, unless it's been made clear exactly what is important. Managers have to decide what's important, and they need to tell the security team. Incidents are going to happen, there is no way around it, the important part is how well the organization respond and recovers. So managers should understand the need for a formal response plan

5 Security management Security management is a broad field that encompasses everything from identification of assets, persons and belongings, implement control mechanism for protection to revision of security system. Security management is the identification of an organization's assets (including information assets), followed by the development, documentation, and implementation of policies and procedures for protecting these assets (Wikipedia)

6 So, security management includes:
Identification of organization assets and areas Development of security plans and policies Documentation of security plans and policies Implementation of policies and procedures for protecting identified areas and assets. The periodic review of whole security system.

10 Bases of Security : ( Threat Assessment )
Value of an assets: religious, organizational, emotional etc. Impacts of destruction: organizational, financial, public interest, international interest etc. Importance of service provided by an asset :Daily supply( water, milk etc.), daily services( like: communication and transport systems, Electricity and fuel supply etc)

11 Security plan should be:
Policy based Threat based Flexible and facts based SWOT analysis based Resourceful but cost effective. Defined Roles, Responsibilities and Duties Well addressed(clear order/policy) Reviewed and tested Coordinated(with concerning agencies) Approved

12 4)Implementation Plan, do, check and act-Model
Develop security, according to designed security plan Testing Implementation of protection Conduct security operations(if necessary) Plan, do, check and act-Model

13 5)Review Dynamic issues
Dynamically changing security requirements of an organization- new security concerns for organizations. Obsolete evaluation of security concerns-New solutions for new threats and vulnerabilities arise. Ineffectiveness of security system-security system doesn’t work as expected.

Grievance handling of people. Easy access to our office. Appoint focal person or Information officer. Polite and friendly behaviour C. Understanding : Political dimensions. Local Sentiments and practices. Jurisdiction of other agencies and role. Expectations of people or clients. Role of media and their responsibilities.
