we can’t rush into these things…… this will take a long time… NEXT STEPS: timing will never be ‘perfect’ ………so don’t wait! begin NOW “the secret about getting started, is GETTING STARTED!” We have to wait until everything is in place It needs so much planning and preparation before we can even think of starting….

10 1: your team….. skills and attributes: self starter with initiative

4: focus & persistence “it always seems impossible until it’s done” Nelson Mandela keep your eyes on the prize positive language and attitude keep going when the going gets tough winners never quit; losers never win “never, never, never give up” Winston Churchill Thomas Edison’s teachers said he was “too stupid to learn anything”. He was fired from his first two jobs for being ‘non-productive’. As an inventor, Edison made 1000 unsuccessful attempts at inventing the light bulb. When asked “How did it feel to fail 1000 times?” Edison replied, “I didn’t fail 1000 times. The light bulb was an invention with 1000 steps”. …running the marathon…

celebrate with your team - Esprit de Corps rise above the ‘dream crushers’ maintain resilience and keep your vision clear recognise destructive comment as a reflection of it’s owner enthusiastic creative thought and open minds can move mountains “the only thing that will stop you reaching your dreams - is YOU” “don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice.” Steve Jobs “there is no great genius without some touch of madness”

17 TEAM TASK: WHAT CAN BE DONE??
The lovely little village of Rodentville has experienced a monumental mouse plague! The town is struggling to cope Businesses have been hit hard Residents are demoralised and exasperated although the mouse population does seem to be ‘tailing off’ In TEAMS of 8 or 10, come up with ideas to revive and inspire the little town to new heights WHAT CAN BE DONE??

18 HELP Be open to ANY ideas!
for Rodentville! Be open to ANY ideas! Choose ONE idea and discuss how it can work with a TEAM approach…

19 CARING FOR THAT AMAZING TEAM
Cherish it! Never take it for granted.. Nuture the vision – share frequent dream sessions Encourage everyone – even for the smallest tasks! Provide shared ‘talk’ and planning opportunities Problem solve together.. Recognise and celebrate small (and big) achievements

20 keep going………. KEEP THE DREAM ALIVE – don’t let others bring you and your team down INTEGRITY and TRUST for a strong foundation DOGGED PERSISTENCE – you are on the brink of scaling the mountain…… don’t give up with just a few steps to go! BELIEVE in the opportunities and the doors that will open MAINTAIN the VISION – don’t focus on the “BUGS on the WINDSCREEN” TAKE INSPIRATION from THE GEESE!
