2 Frederic Chopin Frederic Chopin was a Polish composer and a virtuoso pianist of the Romantic era. The characteristic elements of his music was the establishment of a Polish folk music. He composed among others the polonaises, mazurkas and krakowiaks (for example ‘Polonaise in A-flat major, Op. 53’, ‘Mazurka in B minor’, ‘Krakowiak, op.14’).

3 Polonez Polonez (polonaise) is presentable Polish national dance. This dance was one of the ceremonial court in the courts of Polish kings. It was the nobility parade before the king. Polonez started at balls. Today it is still eagerly danced on various parties in order to underline its solemn character, for example at the ball before graduation. It was called the Polish dance. 4 Henryk Wieniawski Henryk Wieniawski was a brilliant Polish violinist, composer and music teacher. He wrote several songs for violin and piano, which referred to the Polish folk music, mostly dance (kujawiak, oberek, mazurka, polonaise).

5 Kujawiak Kujawiak is a quiet Polish national dance. The steps depend on walking on a slightly bent legs, as well as rotation and strong patter. Moody, lyrical melody gives a flirtatious nature. Other names are sleepy and leaning. The music for this dance was composed by the famous Polish composer Henryk Wieniawski. It is ‘Kujawiak in C major’. fot. 6 Karol Szymanowski 1882 - 1937 Karol Szymanowski was a Polish composer,
pianist, teacher and writer. In addition to Frederic Chopin he is considered one of the greatest Polish composers. Composing music, he referred to the Polish folklore, music highland. He composed among others the polonaises, mazurkas, obereks and krakowiaks.

7 Mazur Mazur (mazurka) is a Polish national dance, which comes from the region of Masovia. Its popularity as a salon dance attributable to the nineteenth century. It was known and danced in whole Europe, also on manors. It is a dance elegant but very dynamic. 8 Oberek Oberek is a Polish folk dance with a lively pace and lively tunes, popular in the area of Radom and Masovia. The names comes from ‘rotation’. 9 Zbojnicki Zbojnicki (the ruffian’s dance) is Polish, highland folk dance from the region of Podhale (Tatra). First, one of the men issuing commands, and later a group of men performed a dance arrangement. In the olden times it was a pastoral dance with elements of martial dance. 10 Stanislaw Moniuszko Stanislaw Moniuszko was a Polish composer, conductor, teacher, organist, the leading representative of Polish national opera. He is the author of the opera "The Haunted Manor", which ends with a Polish national dance the mazurka. Referring to folk music, he composed the krakowiak, polonaise and kujawiak. 11 Krakowiak Krakowiak is a Polish national dance from the region of Krakow. Initially, it was danced only by the rural people. Later, it was danced in wealthy homes bourgeois and nobility. In the eighteenth century it became widespread in symphonic music. This dance became popular on the music stage and instrumental in the nineteenth century.
