7 Student code in ÕIS every student has its unique student number
this number is necessary to identify you in the system ( ÕIS) you need the student code to write on all applications, tests and other papers that are handed in at/in the university Example: Nominal study Ren Zhang KAYM Visiting student Martin Thompson KV

9 How can I access ÕIS if I do not have the ID card yet ?
Information System Office- location SOC-132 Step 1 Turn to Dean´s Office to ask if you already have a student code in ÕIS. Step 2 If you have student code available then visit Information System Office. Bring along identification Document and you will immediately be issued individuaal username and password.

10 Access to ÕIS with ID/TRP card
Once you have received either ID or Temporary Residence Permit for Stduies (TRP) card, kindly visit Dean´s Office ID (TRP) card contains personal code which is unique Dean´s Office will insert the code to the Study Info System (ÕIS) Only if the ID code is inserted to ÕIS can student access it with ID (TRP) card Only if the ID code is inserted to ÕIS can student apply for scholarships

12 First steps in ÕIS Insert your personal data (mandatory, otherwise cannot continue in ÕIS) Check timetable Try to declare subjects (from 5th of September 2016 until the deadline indicated in ÕIS it is possible to withdraw submitted declaration and resubmit it again) Should you have any questions regarding declaration, please turn to Dean´s Office.

Step 2 For display language select English Step 3 Select timetable and again display language English Timetables are available by faculties. Weeks are distributed odd and even, in total there are 16 weeks. Numbers added to the programme abbreviation indicate the semester subject is being taught: nr 11- first year Autumn semester nr 21- first year Spring semester nr 31- second year Autumn semester

16 Registering for a course in ÕIS
At the beginning of each semester all students must submit a study plan if the study plan is not submitted student will be dismissed the study plan is submitted via study information system (ois.ttu.ee) study plan (declaration) must be submitted latest on the indicated dedline in Academic Calendar

17 Study regulations- study plan
Study plan consists: different parts of curriculum (compulsory, elective and optional subjects) list of subjects subject credit points (ECTS) student testing methods (exam or fail/pass) Standard study plan: list of subjects per semester use standard study plan to compile your timetable *Running semester timetable in ÕIS.

18 Study regulations- division of the curricula
general studies (humanitarian, languages etc) basic studies (mathematics, physics, basic chemistry) core studies (fundamentals of specialization) special studies (specialization subjects) free choice courses (only the required credit points given). You can choose: - Optional subjects- (subjects that are not in any TUT´s curricula) - Other TUT´s subjects

19 Study regulations- free choice courses (some examples)
TUT`s Sport Center (Männiliiva tee 7) Table tennis , basketball, aerobics, shido, volleyball, indoor, hockey athletic exercise – the centre has a big fitness hall with reasonably good equipment PS! Before registering any Physical Education course, kindly visit TUT´s Sport´s Centre to ask the name of the couch providing it.

20 Study regulations- free choice courses (some examples)
Faculty of Social Sciences- Language Center HLE2200 Estonian Language and Culture English based different languages (Russian, English, German, etc ). For further information visit the Language Center Room: SOC-471 Contact: Kristel Laanepere PS! Some of the TUT´s free choice courses are available for the tuition fee only. You will discover it once you try to register for it in ÕIS. The ÕIS system will then direct you to the Open University registration system.

21 Declaration deadline 15th of September 2016 (17.00)
School of Economics and Business Administration Faculty of Information Technology Faculty of Power Engineering Final deadline to submit declaration in ÕIS! PS! In some cases, a lecturer has a right to cancel the declartion made by student. In the Academic Calendar, 20th of September is a deadline for cancellation of students’ declarations by the lecturer.

22 Declaration deadline 16th of September 2016 (17.00)

PS! In some cases, a lecturer has a right to cancel the declartion made by student. In the Academic Calendar, 20th of September is a deadline for cancellation of students’ declarations by the lecturer.

23 Registering for a course in ÕIS
What do to if declaration deadline has passed and you have forgotten to submit one? Turn to Dean´s office immediately and they will help you with the declaration. In addition, please: make sure that you take at least the minimum requirement of full study-load 22.5 credit points (you need to count the ECTS in ÕIS yourself) make sure that subject code and professor´s name is correct Should you have any questions, please turn to your Dean´s office to ask for a help. Pass the declaration deadline, you can deleted registered courses only by the turning to your Study Consultants. Courses can be deleted until the end of September. Pass the declaration deadline, courses can be added with the help of Study Consultant only upon the written approval of the designated subject´s professor.

26 Study regulation- examination sessions
2 terms in 1 academic year- Autumn and Spring 1 term consists 16 weeks of classroom and practical study Examination session in the end of semester Autumn semester examination sessioon (2nd- 21st of January 2017) Autumn semester additional examination session (23rd of January- 28th of January 2017)

27 Study regulations- study load
nominal study load per term or the capacity of study according to the curriculum per semester is 30 European credit points (ECTS). Student may hold a full-time or partial load Full-load study requires that a student collect at least 22.5 ECTS on a CUMULATIVE basis under the individual study plan by the end of each academic year for each semester attendedd PS! This is important for BSc and MSc students to maintain free of charge place. Partial- study load requires that a student collect at least ECTS on a CUMULATIVE basis under the individual study plan by the end of each academic year for each semester attended. PS! It is mandatory for bachelor´s and master´s students to collect at least 15 ECTS on the First semester.

28 Study regulations- declaration of exams and final tests
declaration of a subject is valid only 1 semester if a student has not passed the subject within 1 semester time a new declaration in ÕIS must be submitted second time declaration in ÕIS is only for the fee- an invoice will be issued via ÕIS fee depends on the credit point price prices vary depending on the faculty

29 Study regulations- declaration of exams and final tests
at least 2 exam times within the exam session exam times are published at least 4 weeks before the start of the exam weeks before the first exam there has to be at least one consultation the time and place of which is published with exam times Registration for an exam At the instructor or department/faculty (on paper) through ÕIS

differentiated assessment (examination, graded assessment non-differentiated assesment (final test) E stands for examination A stands for final test (Fail/Pass)
