Need to mobilize adequate resources for the implementation of subprogramme activities, given the wide range of initiatives needed to help countries to address food insecurity, climate change, and promote sustainable development including through effective implementation of Rio+20 outcomes. Need for advocacy to raise the profile of food security and sustainable development issues in development cooperation policies and programmes Need for Africa to fully engage in the UN-GA processes on the follow-up to Rio+20 Outcomes, to ensure that they take into account the region’s specific needs and priorities. In this regard, facilitation and support from all partners will be crucial In the context of the joint secretariat, ECA, AUC and AfDB should play a key role in improving coordinated and collaborative support for food security and sustainable development to the RECs, member States, and major groups
