20 Effleurage Movement – light continuous stroking movement applied in slow rhythmic manner. Effect – Soothing and relaxing.

21 Petrissage Movement – Kneading movement performed by lifting, squeezing and pressing the tissue with a light, firm pressure. Effect – Deeper stimulation to muscles, nerves, and skin and improves circulation.

22 Tapotement Movement – Short, quick tapping or slapping movements.
Effect – Most stimulating. Tones muscles and increases blood flow.

23 Friction Movement – Deep, circular rubbing movement.
Effect – Stimulating, significant benefits to the circulation and glandular activity of the skin.

24 Vibration Movement – Rapid shaking of the body part while the balls of the fingertips are pressed firmly on the point of application. Effect – Very stimulating and relaxing.
