The learning habits you need – the right approach.
Set your routines and stick to them. Complete your homework before the deadline, not on the deadline. Prevision and revision starts now. Be ready for tomorrow before you finish today. Keep your attitude positive (this is easier if your learning habits are right). Attendance, attendance, attendance.

Revision There are no big secrets to success in the examination room. Providing you have revised effectively and are well organised, you should do as well in the exams as your ability will allow. start early ask if there is anything you don’t understand attend any extra lessons offered work out a realistic revision timetable find a space where you can focus make your revision active, don’t just read follow up a period of effective revision with a reward

3. Practice the exam questions
Take what you have learnt and have a go! Do this first with notes…then without This needs to be under timed conditions: 1mk = 1min What does the question want from you? Take time to work it out…highlight key words and command word. 2. Content Do you know the facts / content / methods. Summarise, read and learn the main ideas. For ideas check the ways to revise list on the next page. 1. Check WHAT you need to revise Be realistic don’t start revision with what you CAN do! Examination Success (Everyone has to start somewhere)
On paper you are a brighter year group than last year and the current year 11!! What can I achieve this year? ECDL – European Computer Driving Licence

Attendance In 2015 – 2016 across the whole year, the year 9 cohort had the worst attendance with 95.3% (School average was 95.8%) So far this year, the Year 10 cohort is currently on 95.9% with again the 5th best …………………………..or is that the 1st worst? This attendance is the worst in school, especially with over twice the number of unauthorised absences!!

Year 10 internal exams ) There are scheduled internal assessments throughout the year, the dates for these can be found on the VLE: These will include four 1 hour papers sat in the Sports Hall and additional class assessments. The students will also experience a full length Mock GCSE examination in the Sports Hall in July.

Access to the CAMBRIDGE MATHS ONLINE website which closely follows our OCR scheme with interactive resources. Videos on the VLE for all GCSE maths topics. Access to website and personal details to track progress. PIXL maths App on the iPad where students can create their own tests dependent on their areas for development (and track their progress) with videos for support.
