Parents: We are getting a lot of money in the money pouch that is loose and the children aren’t sure what it is for. Of course they want to go to the school store, but I want to make sure the money is going where it is intended to go. Remember if you are sending in money, please put it in an envelope or ziploc baggie with your child’s name and label what it is for. (example: lunch, school store, donation day—hat day, book fair, Scholastic News, field trip, etc.) Also, if it is lunch money, please put your child’s lunch number on the front as well. You can find this in their folder as student number. Thank you all so much for your help! Math – (1.G.1a) I can identify attributes that make a shape (figure). (1.G.1b) I can identify attributes that do not make the shape (figure). (1.G.1c) I can classify shapes by their attributes. (1.G.1d) I can build shapes to show attributes. (1.G.1e) I can draw shapes to show attributes. ELA – (1.W.7b) I can work with others to create writing projects. (1.W.3c) I can write sequencing words to show the order of events. (1.L.6c) I can use words and phrases acquired through being read to. Social Studies – (1.H.1.2) I can explain the importance of neighborhood celebrations. (1.H.1.3) I can describe the different national holidays and why they are celebrated. Letterland: Unit Ten Students will learn about double consonants ff, ll, and ss at the end of words with a single vowel letter. Two of the same letter together only make one sound. Students are placed on each list, depending on how they did on the Pre-Test. Our Spelling test on these words will be on Friday. Your child will only be tested on the list that they were placed on! Penguin Patch Christmas Shoppe Coddle Creek would like to welcome Penguin Patch Christmas Shoppe to our school the week of Dec 12-16, children will be able to shop on a budget of under $10 for gifts for Family and Friends!! Christmas Around the World First grade will be starting a Christmas Around the World unit, where we will study 8 to 10 different countries and how they celebrate Christmas. Students will create a suitcase and map to take along as they travel to each country, like Germany, Mexico, Sweden, Italy, and the USA to name a few. The students will have a blast learning!
